“Tasting tray ”

The tasting tray is great bang for your buck- ours came with 12 2oz tasters of beer. You can bring your dog if you sit out on the patio and the service was really excellent when we were there.

“Arguably the best all-around brewery in Oregon”
Reviewed August 31, 2014 via mobile

There is a lot to like about Fort George, other than the beer. Location is great, even more so now that they've expanded and take up much of the block, with another tasting room. Their menu, which changes frequently and incorporates local ingredients, is every bit as good as their brews.
Oregon has so many breweries it would be easy to lose count. But if I were to judge a place by total package, meaning beer, food, location, atmosphere, and liveliness, Fort George might be tops in Oregon. And that is saying a lot. But I mean it.
Never had a bad experience here. Hopefully they will consider a brew pub in Portland or Eugene or anywhere closer, because Astoria is a haul where ever you are. The drive in summer is awesome, whether hopping over from the valley or driving up the coast. But winter...well let's just hope they work on another location.

“Beervana baby!”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

One of the best brewpubs in the nation! Not just on the Oregon Coast. Check the big board for what's being poured. Not only do they offer their excellent beers like the Vortex IPA
Working Girl Porter and the Cavatica Stout, they also offer a huge selection of microbrews from all over the region. You may not be able to purchase a Coors Light, but they would be able to offer you something similar (Why anyone would want to drink a beer-water, I don't know). Oh, and did I mention they also have really good food too. It's located in the heart of a now-thriving downtown area, with lots of interesting shops nearby. Fun!

“Great Views of the Harbor”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

Eat upstairs! You have an amazing view of the water from there and the number of varieties of microbrews at this brewery is stellar. The beer is cold and the pizza is good. The service is exceptional and the overall vibe really cool! We had the veggie pizza. TIP: Next time I would choose a different pizza as this one was too moist/liquidy for our tastebuds.....(the veggies should have been partially sauteed to release their moisture before being added as a topping).

“Yeast and Dough - a great combo”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

We went to Fort George one night for dinner. We sat upstairs where they have their pizza menu, (it is different food from the downstairs). We ordered a spinach calzone and a sausage calzone. First of all, the dough was amazing. The sausage is sourced locally which is always good. The calzones were huge and we finished them because we couldn't quit eating them! The beer is also very good. I am not a fan of IPA's. When I ordered a wheat beer and it tasted like an IPA, our waiter was very good about sitting down with us and talking about what our style was and giving us tasters. Very nice. I liked all of his suggestions. The views are great up top too. You can see the downtown and the Columbia river. They made it a great night for us.
