“Fun Concept & Location”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

This place was recommended to us from a Newport local. We are so glad we decided on this place. After enjoying the maritime museum we got a couple orders of the fish and chips. It was a long line but well worth it. The fish tasted fresh and we were very happy. This place was very simple but fun and well worth the experience. We will be back on our next road trip.

“A Great Find!”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

The fish and chips here were recommended as the best in Oregon. They were correct! The fish is tuna steak, not your typical white meat fish.

Be prepared to wait in line for a meal that is worth the wait. This venue is located across the road from the maritime museum. There are several picnic tables where you can join others savoring these delectable treats. You 'll feel like one of the locals here. A must stop when in Astoria!

“Loved the tuna fish and chips!”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

Long wait, but once we got the fish and chips was well worth it! Such a grand taste and texture of the fish. Be sure to order the 5-piece as you will wish you had! Cute little place where they serve out of an old boat. We ate in the car as there were only two park benches--but we didn't mind. Kind of fun, actually. And the people running the place were very friendly and fun.

“Amazing!”

Wow! They are amazing! The tiny space they work in and the excellent fish and chips! Loved the fries - tasted like homemade even better - so crispy! Would do it again in a heartbeat!

“Really nice stop while camping at Fort Stevens”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

This place was recommended by a coup[le of friends. We were camping at Fort Sevens State Park and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The fish is fresh caught Albacore Tuna off the coast of Oregon and Washington a nice change from Halibut or Cod most places serve. The fish was just lightly battered and it was obvious the oil was fresh. The fries were standard fare. If you don't like tuna, you will like this place, if you like tuna you will LOVE this place.

The atmosphere is "funky" it is an old 1940 Columbia River Gill-netting boat and you walk up to order. They do have 3 or 4 picnic tables which fill up fast. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays (we found out the hard way). If you go, their hours are from "11-ish" until 6:00 pm or until they run out of fish. GET THERE EARLY !! We went at 11:15 and there were only three groups ahead of us but by the time we left, the line was down the street.

I would recommend this place to anyone (unless you abhor tuna and are not willing to try something new).
