In 3D! The museum is a hit. It was full of visitors on the 6th of July but worth it!. There's a great walking trail along the river right by it and we got in a good couple mile walk too.

Well done museum showing history of this magnificent area. You shake your head realizing the danger many experienced. You also realize how brave our Coast Guard is with their water rescues. Happy we explored.

We really enjoyed the historical displays and interactive set ups. Well worth the time. The information was impressive for someone unfamiliar with the treacherous nature of the confluence of the Pacific and the Columbia River.

As Director of the Shifty Sailors, I have visited many maritime museums in the US. Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon has to be rated as one of the best in the US if not in the world. During my many visits to the museum I have marveled at the classy and interesting way at which they have continually added to their many exhibits, not only inside but also outside the attractive museum.
My only regret is that it is not closer to where I live. I would be there often.
