Friendly, open, appealing museum. Great exhibits. Excellent for children. Easily understood explanations of the Columbia River and its fascinating history.

Loads to see and do for all ages. We paid extra to view the 3D Shark film. My wife left to use the restroom as the film started. The staff refused to re-admit her as she may have disturbed the others watching the film - the cinema was largely empty and would have caused minimum, if any disturbance.

The 3-D movie is in a little room with a few dozen chairs, it is not an actual theater. So unless you are on the front row, you can't see the bottom third of the screen over everyone's heads. I'm sure they change the movies everyone once in a while, but the shark movie was way too long. For a small museum, there were quite a few exhibits. If you are a member, ask for the AAA discount.

I was not expecting to enjoy this museum as much as I did. The displays were attractive, the videos and movies were well spaced out, not intrusive and very informative. I was particularly enthralled by the scrimshaw and the movie about the river and bar pilots. We were fortunate to end our tour just as a group from Whidbey Island, "The Shifty Sailors" began their concert of sea shanties. These men were obviously having as much fun as their enthusiastic audience. We were lucky to visit on the day they stopped by. We were glad we arrived early, it was crowded when we left around noon.

We enjoyed the museum, alot to see and take pictures. It was very informative, alot of history behind all the exhibits. We liked all the models of the ships they had displayed throughout the Museum. It was fun.
