Friendly and helpful service with average rooms. The hotel is in the process of upgrading their rooms which is a good thing; but currently have only queen beds. The food is mediocre and the location is decent as there is a large mall and lots of resturants 5 mins away.

I stay most frequently at Marriott Hotels because they consistently are great on location, cost, and amenities...

This hotel is located in the suburban business district known as Deerwood...the hotel is right off Butler Boulevard and so it's convenient to the south side of Jax...

I checked in and Cortlyn was very friendly and professional...I asked for a king-size bed and she said that the hotel only offered queen-size beds, but that they were in the process of changing some rooms so they'd have king-size beds...

They gave me a room on the top floor...the first thing that I noticed was that the paint on the front door to the room was peeling off in three places (see pictures)...once inside the room was nice...there was a small kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a stove and sink...there was a small dining area, a work desk and a sofa and chair and a large flat-screen television that could be rotated so that you can watch from the sofa or from the bed...

The bathroom was standard fare...the closet was good-sized...the shower and the toilet were in the same room...water pressure was good and the temperature control worked fine...when I went to check on the thermostat, it was loose on the wall...in the morning, I saw the smallest ants I've ever seen, not a lot, but a few crawling around on the shower floor...

The bed was comfortable with lights on both sides and plugs for electronic devices...the pillows were foam and the thickest, I'd ever had, but a little too thick for my taste as I like feather pillows...

As for design, while it was relatively easy to find my hotel room while following the signs that indicated which hallway to go down for the room number, on the way back, there are NO signs on which direction to go to get back to the elevator - there is only one!...the hallways all look alike, so it would be quite easy to get lost, and I did the first time...

I wanted to try ut this Residence Inn, but I think I'll try others the next time I go to that part of Jax...the rooms are nice inside, but the front door to the hotel room and the tiny ants show that there's a problem here

Stayed here overnight on our journey out of Florida to escape Hurricane Irma. Room had a musty smell and bathroom wasn't the cleanest. Otherwise, the room was spacious. There was a good selection available for breakfast - very good. Was good to stay in for the night.

When we travel as a family we stay exclusively in either a Homewood Suites or a Residence Inn because they are the only properties that offer a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. They are moderate properties and usually provide an adequate experience. This property, however, gave us one nasty problem after another with poor response from management. I tried contacting the General Manager repeatedly only to find him out of the office and unavailable. We had one particularly horrible experience that I won't discuss in this review but will take up with Corporate. From a toilet that wouldn't flush or fill to no hot water for the shower to a non-functional telephone to former occupants' hairs in 2 of the showers (separate rooms), ad infinitum. This property is disfunctional and nasty with apathetic "management". Oh, and did I mention that the seat backs in the dining area are so filthy your hands stick to them? RUN!

Our room (2 bedroom) was very tired, but the plentiful hot, fresh breakfast more than made up for it. We would definitely consider staying here again as we drive through FL, especially if we have our dog. The only negative is Marriott charges over $150 for a pet - if you stay more than one night they don't charge you again, but for one night this basically doubles the cost of your stay.
