The French Pantry is essentially a bakery that serves amazing salads and sandwiches. And of course the highlight is the plate of its homemade bread and a wonderful olive oil dip served while you wait for your meal. The salads and sandwiches are all quite large, and after the plate of bread you eat (because it is impossible not to polish it off!) you may not finish it all. But another experience awaits you - and that is their homemade desserts - cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. You may not have room left, but you can take some home! This is a very popular lunch time (not open for dinner) eatery and if you don't go early, you'll stand in line a bit. But it is worth the wait!

I ordered a bruschetta w/ bacon, cheese, and other ingredients, as well as a piece of wedding cake. The food was great, especially the bruschetta which had an incredible combination of delicious flavors. The cake was moist and tasty. The bread was good, nothing unique though. The food was arranged artistically, good presentation. The atmosphere was cozy and being seated with strangers was an unusual but enjoyable experience. Line was only 5-10mins but I got there right at opening time. Service is adequate. Price is a little high ($17) but certainly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food - the portions are very generous! I would say this place is not only worth a visit, its worth repeating!

I'm a repeat customer to the French Pantry, having been well over 2 dozen times in the past 24 months. The ingredients are not only delectable, but the freshest around. All the food, from the sandwiches to the salads to the bruschetta is superb. This establishment is number one for a reason. If you miss coming here on a visit to Jax, you're a fool. If you do manage to go, prepare yourself for the ultimate foodgasm!!!!

Oh it was divine..worth the wait outside to get in and definitely hard to choose among the many offerings. Settled on the goat cheese, shrimp and artichoke bruschetta served with dice marinated tomatoes on a bed of field greens..my mouth is watering as I relive the delicious favors! The wedding cake for dessert was a real treat..fresh berries , fabulous yellow cake and a simply creamy wonderful icing. All meals are served with a side order of French bread with dipping oil and herbs..I was so full couldn't finish the last several bites..come really hungry! Take home a few loaves of the wonderful breads. Also bought some of the best pecan sandy cookies we have ever tasted. What a treat!

I've been eating there for years and know the routine. It is not fast food. Prepare to stand in line. By the time you order your food, a table, or space at a table, will open up. Everyone in line who wants to eat inside will be able to do so. There is a method to the madness. Everything on the menu (which is only on chalkboards) is exceptional. Their primary business is baking bread in the am for other restaurants and is terrific. The deserts are awesome and our family favorite is the wedding cake and they usually have it. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with anything there - just make sure you bring your patience.
