Quite noisey but you expect it. Friday is the best day--all the shrimp you can eat. People very friendly. Parking tough and expect a wait unless you are there early for lunch.i think the change in management helped. I go there at least once every two weeks or so.

“A different dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We made reservations for 7. Walked in and didn't see the buffet ???? We were seated and I asked about the buffet. The waiter said it will start in a few minutes. They were waiting on one more party of 5. After they arrived, Art started cooking the shrimp and fish. They put out the fresh cooked collards, cheese grits, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes and the fresh cooked seafood. Art came to our table and invited us to the buffet but said don't do anything until I ring the bell. Then he announced the buffet is open and filled the cast iron skillets with wonderful fresh food. But I realized there was no fried shrimp. A few minutes later Art came to each table with huge plates of fried shrimp right out of the fryer. Then he said, When its all said and done, take home all that's left. We aren't making soup with it tomorrow." Then he continued to add shrimp to each table , this time the blackened shrimp also. We were getting stuffed ! All the food was sooooo good. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, he came around with homemade belguim chocolate brownies. OMG to die for !!!!! If you have never been there, don't expect fancy, or a big place, just good food, a fun time and a casual atmophere. Be SURE you make a reservation for Fri or Sat. night. He only cooks for a room full at a time. It's never sitting under lights for hours. Loved it, Joan Williams

“Unique place in South Jacksonville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2012

We had the Wednesday lunch buffet today. Excellent "Cracker" cuisine and Art is a showman.
The place was packed with a diverse set of customers including Cops with Glocks and little old ladies who tottered down the buffet line.

The Collards were prepared in a special manner and everyone seemed to love the place and the atmosphere. There are no white tablecloths here! Just good food cooked with a flare and low prices.

The seating area is small, so get there early if you can.

“Grandma's type of dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

I'm an 11th generation Georgia peach, so this is the type of food I was raised on. Never cared for collard greens, but will eat a bite or two of these (off someone elses plate). I'm all about the fried green tomatoes. The slaw is excellent. The complimentary cookies are devine. Haven't really tried the BBQ since I always order the fried fish. Shrimp are fresh and well cooked. The buffet on the weekends seems to attract a loyal following who take advantage of the BYOB offer.
