On our very recent vacation in Florida, we drove to Little Talbout State Park and campgrounds. I was so happy we had not made a 'special trip' to this State Park Camp Grounds, but decided to make a 'day stop' on our trip on the way home. The camp-grounds is entirely across the street, in another location totally from the Ocean area. The camp-grounds is like going back in time, to a by-gone area. Almost 'remote' like and reminded me of the Adams Family TV show! LOL! It's heavily wooded, and just seemed dismal, and gloomy to us! The Beach area,.... that area has a very long board-walk to even get near to the beach...and then you still walk through a grassy area quite a ways, BEFORE you get even close to the Beach. That area was nice for bird watching and that type of thing. It's mostly grassy areas, with a lot of natural sand dunes. The beach is pretty, but it's hard to get to! It's also very uninhabitated...so perfect for the person, that wants to be alone!

We have camped here multiple times. The area is beautiful. You can walk across the way and go to the beach, fish, fly a kite...You can take your kayak (or rent one) or take a dingy or paddle board etc. Our favorite camp site is over on the right side, site #1. At some sites you can hang your hammock and chill, take a nap...

We rented some kayaks and went for a little get a way. It was a great day trip and a wonderful way to get the kids outside and appreciating nature. Not too crowded and great fun. Must go.

This beach has a long walk on a well-maintained boardwalk traversing the dunes. There is usually a shallow tidal pool for kids to enjoy, and large flocks of seagulls and pipers. You typically will not find a ton of sunbathers and rowdy folks on this stretch. It always feels like a personal and quiet experience. There are big pavilions with grills for picnickers, restrooms that are pretty well maintained but get wet from swimmers, and lots of areas of the park to explore and enjoy other than just the beach.
