Although it opens at 9AM, the view is amazing. Cliffs in Jacksonville? Yes!

“Important marker for Historical event”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

Stunning monument overlooking St. Johns River giving tribute to Jean Ribault and his proclaiming land for France. Monument is a replica. Great stop for history buffs. half mile away from Fort Caroline.

“Excellent view of the St. Johns River.”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

Good river view, including old channel behind Blount Island. The site worked well for a marine band radio facility to contact units in Fernandina, Atlantic Beach and NAS Jacksonville.

“Kind of lame”
Reviewed January 26, 2007

This is exactly what it says - a monument. You'll read a short description of it and then get back in the car and leave. If you are a history buff or in the area (say, going to visit Fort Caroline which is a little more interesting) then it is easy to swing by but I wouldn't go out of my way.
