We were in Jacksonville for three nights and two of them we had dinner at the excellent establishment. The food was excellent with big portions, the staff was friendly and provided great service. We will be back the next time we are in Jacksonville!

Shrimp and oysters were great as well as the sides. Went to Osteens and it was not even close to taste of St. Johns.

For a place that advertises the best steaks and seafood in the area, it's reasonable to expect it to at least be good. While the prices are very reasonable, this is a case of 'you get what you pay for'. We've been to this place twice and each time it's been the same....average to poor quality food. One of their 'hooks' is advertising a large quantity of shrimp (about 20) prepared any way you want it. The shrimp are very obviously not fresh, but the type you buy frozen at the grocery store that have a sort of soggy salty taste and less than firm texture. While you may not notice it so much if you ordered fried, it's plain as day in the grilled dish.
And if you like blackened? Beware; they absolutely murdered a very nice piece of redfish, encasing it in an overly salty black tomb that was thicker than the fish itself. It was inedible. When I sent it back the waitress informed me I could have ordered 'lightly blackened' instead. Well, lightly blackened wasn't on the menu, and if they did 'blackened' properly it wouldn't be necessary.
On the plus side, the service is prompt and friendly, and very apologetic for my murdered fish, taking it off our bill. They do a decent job with fried foods, and the gator tail appetizer is good, as is the fried squash. This is an average, typical casual seafood restaurant that offers quantity over quality. If you prefer lighter fare, this isn't the place to go.
