Clark's Fish Camp offers the traveler a dining experience that is unusual and visually interesting --- you are surrounded by all kinds of exotic (stuffed) animals. The decor is distinctive and the food is pretty good. Lots of choices on the menu, including some that require a taste for adventurous dining. Off the beaten path both literally and metaphorically, Clark’s Fish Camp is worth the trip to escape from dull chain restaurants and fast food. Just for fun!

We love taking friends from out of town to Clark's. If you like seafood, this is the place to go. They offer a zillion choices of seafood cooked in every way possible. We've never had a bad meal. If you don't like it fried, like another reviewer, then get it broiled or baked or however else they offer. Although, it's a 30 minute drive for us and we could find good seafood closer, we love taking out-of-town friends there.

It's a classic Florida "fish camp" restaurant, located on Julington Creek. Clark's started off as a place on the river to fish, drop your boat, and buy bait, beer, and snacks. Like almost all the old fish camps, it has morphed into a seafood restaurant. However, Clark's has retained much of it's fish camp roots; most of the restaurant is built over the water on pilings, one dining area is outside but covered, they have docks so you can still arrive by boats or simply watch the boaters. We belong to a local boat club with docks on Julington Creek, and we especially love taking our guests to Clark's by boat.

If you're going there for dinner on the weekend, be prepared for a wait that could be as much as an hour. For us, it's worth the drive and the wait, because the ambience and character are off the chart. Even while waiting, you won't get bored; here's plenty to see and do. It might offend some folks, and we're not hunters; but we love the amazing trove of stuffed critters that surround all the dining areas. They even have a large live alligator.

If you don't like seafood, they have more meat choices than I've seen anywhere else. It's not just beef, but you can get bison, ostrich, and a number of other exotic, but farm-raised for meat, selections. They have the best prime rib I've ever had.

If you're in a hurry and might be offended by stuffed animals, find another restaurant. Hopefully, your not being there, could shorten the wait for our next visit.

The food and service are consistent. The establishment is on par with an Ale House. My comment is not bad, but not great. Other fish camps have opened in the area and offer a more upscale food selection and atmosphere. Again, not great, but not bad either.

I can not eat shellfish, so I don't. Evidently they used the same utensils to cook the shellfish as my fish, because I got very sick.
