“Surprised but impressed!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This place is half seafood market/half restaurant (six booths and some tables). Doesn't look like much from the outside (it's in a strip mall). But it was highly recommended, so we went for lunch on Sunday and arrived around noon. We were seated and the server was very pleasant and offered to bring samples of the soups to try - she brought three samples - for each of us! The clam chowder was awesome. There was also a soft shell crab soup and gumbo, which I didn't try. We ordered an appetizer of conch fritters that were fluffy and fresh and rather tasty. We also got combo baskets (fried shrimp & clam strips) (fried shrimp & blackened scallops) and a mixed grill seafood salad. The baskets were very fairly priced and you could do a combo with two things for the same price as one item. I tried shrimp, clams and scallops and everything was perfectly cooked. The blackened scallops were huge quite amazing. I'd go back just for that. The clam strips were true New England style and a rare treat in Florida!
The service was very good, and friendly (a rarity these days!) and the place was packed when we left. Would highly recommend and would go back.

“Best Seafood in Jacksonville!!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We used to go to Safe Harbor in Mayport for the great seafood and sitting on the dock eating but NO MORE because Sid and Linda aren't running it anymore BUT thank goodness they have now opened a great restaurant at Atlantic and Kernan. The food is so good, the prices are great, the service is great, the place is immaculately clean, and Sid and Linda are so welcoming. If you want great fresh seafood to take home, they have it But if you don't want to cook, this is the very best place to eat seafood in Jacksonville

“Great seafood place!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed everything this place had to offer. Fresh seafood all over the place! Personal favorites were the conch fritters and blackened shrimp. I could eat the shrimp all day! We also had a flounder sandwich and the bun it was served on was fresh, rare for a seafood place.

Fries and coleslaw were nothing special, neither was the decor. Fish at the counter for purchase looked nice though!

Will definitely return for some good seafood though!

“Great Little Place”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Food was good and the service was outstanding. Questioned the different types of soups and the waitress brought us a sample of all the soups they made. I went with the crab bisque which was very tasty. Small but comfortable. They also have a seafood market, thust the name which looked moderately in price. Will go back.

“Fresh and delicious”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We sought out this place due to Safe Harbor being closed. Same wonderful shrimp, same owners. Their green beans are so fresh and flavorful. I adore them! The fish soup is great.
Our server was so generous...she boxed up our food and drinks with a FULL portion of everything we had ordered. She even asked if we'd like our drinks to go. Again, she gave us a full portion for the road.
