My wife and I went to the Bono's at 10645 Philips Highway, Jacksonville, Florida (near The Avenues Mall) on 3-15/12 about 5:30 p.m. and were totally disappointed by our experience.
My wife order ribs and when serverd, they were cool and tough. The meat was so hard that she was unable to eat the majority of her order. She ordered fries as a side, and the fries were cold, tough, over cooked and greasy.
I ordered a small pork platter with beans and fries; when the order arrived, the meat was cold, the beans were cold and the fries were cold, tough, over cooked and greasy.
This was our second experience at this location with a similar dining experience. I don't know if it was the time of day or if this is the current level of service at this location. This location does a land office type of lunch business with a relatively light evening and dinner crowd. Perhaps the lunch crowd is where this location places it's emphasis, but there is no excuse for cool to cold food and overcooked and tough fries and, cold beans.
This was a most unsatisfactory experience and it will be a long time before I return to this location for a meal and if this the "norm' for how the evening customers are treated, then I will have to consider going elsewhere. This restaurant is one half mile from my house but I will drive 5 miles to a competitor that servers food that is not cold, fries that are not overcooked, tough and, greasy.
