“Food Coma”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

First time visiting Potters and it was great. From the minute you walked in the staff was friendly and answered all your food questions. It was a party of four for lunch and we walked right up front with no wait. We ate braised oxtail, fried chicken, ribs(special for the day), and tilapia. You get 2 sides with every entree and like the title of this review it puts you in a food coma. I didnt want to go back to work after I ate here. Wanted to take a long nap. I recommend Potters to anyone in the mood for some good comfort food.

“A real surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Went to the Soul Food Bistro II for Father's day. The food was outstanding comfort food, and large portions. Everyone was friendly and fast.
To top it off, they gave each father a $5.00 gift card to celebrate Father's day. Great selection of food. First time I had oxtail and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was great. My only regret was they didn't have chicken gizzards on the weekends. I had read many reviews that they were to die for. Well worth another trip during the week. It introduce our son to another great restaurant in his area.
Be aware it is cafeteria style, but the lines move fast.

“Check your diet at the door for some authentic Southern cookin'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

This restaurant is the second location of a well know "Soul Food" place on the Westside of town. The food is authentic Southern with choice of meat, 2 sides and cornbread or roll for around $8.00. The fried chicken is as good as any I have had. All the sides are great and they have daily specials. The service is the best I have had in awhile, and the restaurant and bathrooms are spotless. The choices of sides included sweet potatoes, fried cabbage, collard greens, field peas, and several others. You can also choose a salad instead of a veg for a small price. The mac and cheese is also some of the best I have had. We went for lunch, arrived at 1100 when they opened, and they were busy within 30 minutes. It is a little hard to find, in a freestanding building in front of the Walmart on Atlantic and Kernan. Well worth the effort it takes to find it. I will visit here frequently and take my family and friends.

“Almost like home cooking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

Very good home like cooking. The only problem is they need to have more consideration for their customers' sodium intake. Please go lighter on the salt and allow customers to add salt at the table.
They serve cafeteria style, and there is a good choice of vegetables. The restaurant is clean and well arranged. The staff is welcoming and friendly.
I had baked chicken breast, collard greens and candied yams. The chicken was nice and tender, the greens were not greasy, and the yams were a bit on the overly sweetened side, but very good.
If you guys lay off the salt a little, I would definitely return.
