“Worth a look”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

I've been to this museum several times over the years both with adults and with children. This I found is the key to enjoying the museum. With other adults I was able to enjoy and take in all the wonderful different types of art in what I call the "the adult side of the museum." Even enjoy a coffee at the café and take a stroll through the gardens with views of the St Johns River. With children... the adult side is "boring" and children get antsy but thankfully I'm happy to say the museum has a children's side, a more hands on enjoyment of art. The children really enjoy the more laid back approach and more freedom to explore.
I have only one small negative to say, the gardens use to be kept up better than they have been of my last two visits.

“A hidden gem in historic Riverside”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The museum is a must see in Jacksonville. They have rotating art exhibits - most recently concept cars from the 50's and 60's - so there is always something new to explore.

“Art”

This is a very nice place to sit, walk around by the river or through the flower gardens. If you go on Tuesdays after 4pm, it's free. It has something for everyone, including children. There is also food to purchase as well as a gift shop.

“Jacksonville Must-See”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

Spent a wonderful afternoon here with a couple of friends. We were thrilled by the paintings done by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, one of our favorite artists. The rest of their collection is also lovely. We also enjoyed lunch at their cafe. The gardens outside were gorgeous and the Cummer Oak is a must see. It's a live oak that has grown into the grown in some spots and still resurfaced. They even have a nice gift shop. I can't imagine any fans of museums not enjoying this spot!
