Took my Autistic brother to Catty Shack for the first time. He loved it! The tour guides were awesome, and very informative. We had a middle age gentleman with glasses (cant remember his name) but he was very helpful. Such a great place to have in Jacksonville.

The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is a must for any animal lover visiting Jacksonville! My wife and I went to the Saturday night feeding tour. It was nice to see the animals kept in nice enclosures and taking very good care off. All the volunteers showed a great deal of love, respect for and knowledge of the animals. The Sanctuary only receives money from donation so it was great to see such a large turn out of people visiting tonight. A must see!

Take a lovely drive on country roads in Jacksonville, FL to get there and spend a modest priced entry fee to take a tour of this big cat sanctuary. It isn't a big place and the tour takes only 30 minutes but the have a great variety if cats and you can get nice and close to view them.

Part of the tour is under cover of trees and in the hot Florida sun, this is welcome. The terrain is not paved as you're walking over grass so put on walking shoes.

Photographers will want to bring tripods because you'll be shooting through fence but you can get some fab shots of big cats that you just can't get at zoos because the cats are often too far away.

Finish your tour with a cold drink, pick up a shirt for the kiddies and throw some change in the donation bucket.

Between the drive, the tour, spending some time taking pix then relaxing with a cold drink, you're looking at a 4 hour time spend.

Enjoy!

After reading all of the reviews, I thought this place was going to be a lot better than what it was. The staff is very friendly, but I was expecting more. The tour lasted thirty minutes. It was neat being able to see the animals, but I do not see the difference in this place compared to the zoo. We also visited the Jacksonville zoo, and for five dollars more, we felt that it was better than the Catty Shack Ranch.
