“Chance to see Big Cats up close”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This off the beaten path home for lions and tigers is an extrodinary place to come and see them. You can actually participate in the feedings if you time it right which makes it even more intriguing. The ranch itself is sort of hard to find so a gps or garmin is a good idea. The place itself is not that big so you are not looking at a day long event with shops and other entertainment, the Cats are # 1 here. The people that work there consider this a lifetime mission and you know by their sincerety that is the utmost concern. This is definitely the closest you will ever come to animals this size. Bring along a towel and/or wet wipes to clean up afterward. The staff will tell all kinds of stories about the different cats as they all have their own personalities. the younger kids will love the purrs and growls that can be heard. Go early before the heat makes them lazy or very late near dinner. The Jax Zoo is not to far away if you want to make a whole day, but that is a trip in itself. Price is little high but you pay for closeness. check for specials.Bring your own refreshments as not large choice and no stores nearby.

“Purrrrific!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

A very unique place with beautiful big cats. Volunteers give a guided tour and discuss each cat, inducing their unique personalities (and warn that you may be "marked" if you stand in the wrong place.

The kids loved it.

“Really neat”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The cats are gorgeous and awe inspiring! This was the first time we have been there. Much more up close and personal than the zoo, but with a smaller selection of animals. The price was a little high, and we did not get to see everything b/c apparently you have to stay with a tour group. We did not get a tour, so we had to catch up to another group. It was also rainy and very muddy.

“A work in progress”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Have only been once, but was quite impressed. There was some expansion going on. Tour times are posted on their web site- www.cattyshack.org You never realize how BIG a Siberian Tiger is until you get up close and personal. Mostly tigers with a few other cats, lions, cheetahs, leopards, etc.Might be hard to push a stroller around, since it is not paved. Got to see some new tiger cubs while there. Guides seem pretty well informed. Worth a visit.
