“Great Place for Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

I think Jacksonville area has a few of these Cafe's. I went to the one at the intersection of Bay Meadows and Southside Blvd. This location is a nice area of south Jacksonville and only about 15 minute drive to the beach. Food and service is great. The only drawback are the paper cups for coffee.

“Great lunch spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2012 via mobile

Thoroughly enjoyed their Village Club sandwich for lunch. It was worth the money, especially with the bread for dipping beforehand. Decor was nothing notable, but clean and fresh.

“Wow, that's a good bagel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

This is a nice local cafe for breakfast. A little more expensive than the chains, but it's a local place and you get what you pay for. I had one of their bagels with my breakfast and it was outstanding, one of the best I've ever had. I would definately recommend this cafe for breakfast.

“Good Lunch Spot-San Jose Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2012

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon and I was really excited because there is nothing I like better than carbs. I had the chicken salad sandwich with macaroni and cheese. The sandwich was huge and it had a great flavor like the chicken had been roasted. It came on bread that was delicious: multi-grain bread with sunflower seeds and oatmeal flakes on the crust. My hubby had the ham, swiss and bacon panini and for whatever reason it didn't have any bacon on it (not his choice). He thought the sandwich was good because the bread was soft and the ham was tasty, however he did not think it was an $8 sandwich since it was very thin and lacking one of the ingredients. We agreed the mac and cheese had a cheesy flavor but it wasn't creamy. During our meal they brought out some freshly baked bread with olive oil and it was super good. The bread was warm and soft in the middle with a crispy, chewy crust on the outside. The service was really good with an attentive and friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean.

“San Jose location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2012

I've visited this establishment in past for both breakfast and lunch. When I go, I regularly enjoy a farmers omelet, with toast and hashbrowns ($7.49). On this visit, service was slow, my omelet was served luke warm, but my wife's was piping hot.

It's almost a cafeteria style, walk to the counter, place your order, get your drinks and condiments, and find a seat. Then they bring you your food.

It is clean, homemade style food with a subtle twist. The Village Club sandwich is great, especially with their pesto mayonnaise.
