“Truly well done for a chain restaurant!”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Operated and owned by the folks from Olive Garden...this place is head and shoulders above it's sister restaurant. The menu is full of fresh, seasonally acquired ingredients and they boast that all items are under 475 calories. We had the warm golden beet salad (delicious!!!); Mussles in a Thai broth (so good that I got caught licking the bowl); Lamb t-bone chops (delicious but over done); Martinis (served with your own personal shaker which gives you approximately an additional 1/2 drink!). The prices were surprisingly reasonable for all this good food and sleek atmosphere. This particular location had a GREAT singer/piano player at the cozy but spacious bar. Only complaint would be that the service was slightly slow....but very courteous.

“Back Again - But unfortunately not quiet the same this time”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

I reviewed this restaurant about a year ago and we came away very satisfied, rating it a solid 5. We been back a couple times and the last time was around Christmas 2013. We came away that time not feeling so positive and we felt it wise to re-review Seasons52.

We made reservations and arrived our typical 15 minutes early to observe and also to allow staff extra time to fit us in where we like to sit. They complied and seated us in about 15 minutes, long enough for us to look around a bit. Being that it was near Christmas, the restaurant was busy and cheerful. The building is warm and inviting, also well appointed with clear views of the upscale bar and the open style kitchen areas where cooks are busy preparing various dishes.

As soon as we were seated we noticed a difference right away. First, the seating had been changed to fit in ore tables and chairs. That meant very close accommodations for everyone. We could clearly and often loudly hearing entire conversations of those seated on all three sides of us. Obviously, this impacted on servers, as they were extremely over booked on tables. Apparently the manager(s) decided not to increase staffing when they increased the seating. Our server was mostly missing in action and when at our table, appeared very rushed and preoccupied. At that point, we began to feel the pressure the server obviously felt, which meant it was not a relaxing or enjoyable task selecting and ordering our meals. So, OK, we can roll with a little inconvenience....

However, once food arrived at our table, we noticed right away something else was also clearly different. Portion size had changed, not for the better, as they were much smaller. Of course, they would retort "it’s a low cal kind of place". Come on - do you really think we are stupid?! To be fair, the food was well flavored and cooked well, although it was a bit salty this time. It’s just that we left hungry.

Something must be going on with their business because I received an email survey within a couple of days, which I answered honestly but objectively. I received a phone call from a manager in about a week to discuss it. His final comments were, "Well it was Christmas, we are low cal, and may I have your address I will send something to you".

Unfortunately, I never heard back from them and have never received anything in the mail. Hmmm. There are a lot of good places to eat in Jax and St. Aug, so we will put this one at the bottom of our list.

BTW, they did not lower the prices so expect to pay a premium price for very little food.

“Great place and super ambiance”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Half the experience of dining out is being able to share good conversation with your companions...who wants to eat great food if you can't converse? Tired of yelling, I go to Seasons 52 where there is always something great to eat and where, if you ask, you can be assured of a quiet table. Do not sit in the back....the ambiance is not the same. If it is just two of you dining, sit at the bar...the service is attentive and it's cozy and quiet enough to talk. The food is always superb.

“Breaks my rule about eating in chain restaurants”
Reviewed January 3, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I generally avoid chains whne desring something special, but have to say it feels like a unique location with attentive service and attention to detail. Our most recent visit was terrific, hour and a half by desire, pleasant, tried different things, asked for preferences, all honored, extra this, none of that, can we skip this and get tha other thing? All agreeable and honored. Food is taastey and well displayed, pace as desired and nice bar. The sophisticated and pleasant atmosphere has the added benefit of carrying over to patrons' pleasant and agreeable behavior. Nice to be in a place where patrons are considereate of one another.

“Good to be back”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

I have not been to a Season's 52 for a few years and was very very pleased with the service and menu. We will absolutely not wait so long to visit again. We sat in the bar area which is first come first serve seating. Great place to sit, more action and a great piano player performing. My Wife had the Trout which was excellent and I had the vegetarian sampler which was really great, considering I'm not a vegetarian. The veggie taco on my plate was particularly good. Great place in Jacksonville.

Thank Tom M
