Owner description: Nestled along the gorgeous St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville, The Jacksonville Landing is home to year-round entertainment, a wide variety of waterfront dining options and a cozy inside shopping mall all of which are sure to complete an afternoon or evening of fun. For more than 25 years, The Jacksonville Landing has been the spot to stop in downtown Jacksonville. The Landing hosts more than 600 events each year including Florida/Georgia Weekend Celebrations, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, New Year’s Eve and TaxSlayer Bowl Celebrations, St. Patrick’s Day and July 4th. Weekly events include live weekend entertainment in the center courtyard offering a variety of music including classic rock, oldies, contemporary, jazz, and top 40. The Landing also hosts a myriad of events for the community such as charity walks and runs and the Earth Day Ecology Fair. Restaurants at The Landing provide a great view of the gorgeous St. Johns River. Visiting each restaurant is like experiencing a different cuisine and a different atmosphere each time you make your way to Downtown Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Landing needs a complete overhaul!! This place used to be "the place" back in the 80's and early 90's with plenty of shopping, eating facilities, and nightlife. Unless there is a special event going on in Jacksonville (FL vs GA football game) the Landing is dead! Mavericks is ok for night life but if a decent band comes, you can't get in the doors. This is not a place I would make a "priority" to see unless you know of a special event going on down there. Also have to be watching over your back constantly because it draws a lot of "punks" looking to snatch purses or cause fights. Sad to see such a once beautiful, lively attraction go down hill.
P.S. The only reason why we were there April 2014 was for OneSpark. Otherwise it has been a few years.

once a great place to go in the late 90's, it hasn't been in a long time. it is ok to go during the day, but do not go down at night. We went to two shows recently at the Times Union Building and went to the Landing to dinner. Not sure how the restaurant even stays open. Dirty and horrible service. Don't really feel safe walking to the car and back at night.

A sight that had and has so much potential but it has turned into a disaster and is embarasing to the city. Beautiful views of the river that weaves thru the downtown but the landing is a waste.

Not worth the time and parking money. Most stores are closed and the ones that are still open close early. Went in evening and was truly disappointed. There was a live band playing outside but really didn't feel safe standing outside.

Since 2007 I have enjoyed spending evenings and daytime strolls in Jacksonville Landings while on vacation from South Florida. I no longer enjoy the area, and feel downright unsafe in the area. The Landings offers the same sub-par choices of restaurants with a notable decline in service, choices and overall atmosphere. There are so many other areas of Jacksonville that are worth exploring. I recommend trying out some of the other "things to do" in Jacksonville listed on tripadvisor.
