The river view is wonderful and the walk along the river is refreshing and calming. They need a better variety of places to eat and shop. I'm not into the bar scene and most of the places are bars. I think they could generate a lot of revenue if they would make some major upgrades to the area.

Jacksonville Landing, billed as being a riverfront attraction with shops and restaurants, was a disappointment. The restaurants were mostly low level chains such as Hooters or fast food. There was a food-court that was similar to what you'll find in many older shopping malls. The few shops were schlocky t-shirt and hat stores. The river view is nice, but that's it.

“May have been something at one time”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Went over to JL for dinner on a Wednsday night. Arrived at 7:00pm and the place was DEAD. We ended up in an Italian restaurant (can't remember the name) and once inside it started to rain. We had to switch tables because the roof was leaking onto our table. Considering this is to be the downtown of a major city..... I don't get it, everything is dead quite...nothing around at all. Was actually depressing.

“New Years Eve”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

We were in town for the Gator Bowl. We went to the Landing on New Years Eve. We had dinner at a Irish pub. They had live music and the food was outstanding.

“Picked up on the weekend, slow during the week.”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

Somewhat dingy but to be expected on a waterfront. Views are excellent as were several restaurants. Live bands on the weekends and THE place to be during a game weekend as the stadium is within sight of here.
