This was our first trip to Jacksonville, we were surprised that downtown didn't have a shopping area but the landing has a mall with great shoppes, restaurants from very expensive to a reasonable food court. The only complaint we had was that the live music was too loud, no one could carry on a conversation but it was free. We live in Ocala & will def return to Jax !

A few restaraunts and a nice view of the water, but that's about it unless your there when a specific event is going on (such as 4th of July fireworks or Florida v. Georgia weekend.)

I'm here on my boat, tied up to the Landing's wall for free overnight. That's a good thing! Dinner at Benny's was superb. Half of the places here seem closed or empty though - those open are touristy and quite pricey. And right now, it's 3:30 a.m. - I think the jack hammering has finally stopped, but the crap music hasn't. Definitely getting out of here tomorrow (actually today, i guess!) maybe I can sleep then.... If I were to come back here, maybe I'd just do lunch and move on...

The views are nice for picture taking. Good choice of restaurants. We went to the American Grille. Wouldn't go back. Burgers where charred to death & when new ones were brought the table, they were still not cooked to how we ordered them. We ordered wings from Hooters to bring back to our hotel & the whole family raved about them!

I visited on a weekday just after lunch rush and the place was dead. There was a big store front on the first level which used to be Rush Street but was now closed down. The second level was much worse with many empty stores. There were enough restaurants to choose from but not many retail stores available. Management will somehow need to attract better and varied retailers to boost crowd attendance. Don't get me wrong, the place gets packed during special events and during the summer time but those days are few and far in between. The people of Jacksonville deserves something better!
