“The Landing continues to slowly die”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Another original tenant (Body Central) announced it will be leaving the Jacksonville Landing. Not surprising for anybody who has visited recently. The Landing continues to slip toward irrelevancy. While the areas around the St Johns Town Center and River City Marketplace continue to boom and the Avenues and Orange Park malls thrive. The Landing offers almost nothing aside from a good view. The residents of Jacksonville have heard alot of promises for this "attraction" but have seen little movement. It couldn't even support a Starbucks. The inside is very depressing. A food court with half of it's outlets empty. A bottom floor mall with empty storefront after empty storefront. A complete re-do is needed or it might just be better to give it the old wrecking ball.

“Could be great!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Jacksonville has a perfect opportunity to showcase downtown and the Landing, but the city just can't seem to make it happen. The Landing overlooks the St. John's River. They do have live entertainment on week ends and it is a lot of fun.

“Nice atmosphere”

Beautiful location in the middle of downtown on the riverbank. Good restaurants and atmosphere for an evening out with a date or friends. Perfect for dinner or drinks before or after a show.

“Indoor/outdoor mall project that never left the ground”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

We went to Jacksonville Landing on a Friday night. From what the website said it sounded like it would be a nice place to walk around in. I was thinking something like River St in Savannah, since it was so close to the river. It was within a very short walk of the Omni. First impressions were good, the sidewalks were new and clean, and the landscaping was very nice. However, once you enter the area it felt oddly empty. The sign indicated that half the shops were empty. All the shops we saw inside looked to be tourist junk. The restaurants were nothing special. If the place could attract some better businesses and restaurants it would be a great place to spend some time.
