I have dined at some of the best restaurants in the US from NY city to San Fran and I have to say that Taverna ranks with the best. I have dined here at least twice a month since they opened and I have to say that they put Jacksonville on the culinary map for a place that respects the food and who offer dishes that are both creative and simple in preparation but over the top in flavor and quality. Its says a lot that using the finest ingredients from meats to olive oils to fish and freshly made pasta put Taverna at the top of the dining scene in Jacksonville. The new menu with paella with pasta was delicious. The hanger steak, pasta carbonara, and the Fungi Pizza are first class. The wine list and service round out the total experience. They put a lot of attention on the list and I have found some great offerings only found here. The service is top notch and the team of Sam and Kiley, Rachel and Brian and the entire wait staff make it a real pleasure to dine with them. It has been 5 years and it only gets better on each visit from food to service to total experience.
Must eats: Fungi Pizza, Baked Chicken, ORECCHIETTE(when offered) Steak special(when offered), and the Paella with pasta.
