Came down to Jacksonville with some friends and we stopped by the Friendship Fountain and strolled around a bit. Lovely fountain colors at night and a great place to sit, talk and enjoy some time with friends. The view of the river and bridges surrounding the area was also a plus!

Very pretty during day nice and relaxing place to hang at night the lights in the water are cool stayed for a couple hours just watching
This is a city park right on the river between two bridges and surrounding a huge decorative fountain. The park is almost directly across the river from the Landing in downtown Jacksonville. There are multiple seating benches near the fountain and a few on the river front itself. Several picnic tables were located near the riverfront for those who enjoy eating outdoors. A water taxi or river tour boat ride left from the park area for those interested in an excursion. It looked like an interesting river cruise - very relaxing! At sunset the light hitting downtown is very pretty. Parking is in a lot adjacent to the park.
If you have a chance, visit this place. Find a bench and just take in the view of the river, the fountain with changing colors, enjoy the huge shady oak trees and look out over the water. It's a nice getaway and just steps away from the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
We drove the hour from Amelia island for dinner and then a viewing of the lights at the friendship fountain. Our dinner went faster than expected, so we arrived at the fountain at 7:30. I had read in their website that starting July 1st at 8:30pm there would be,"a Fourth of July special of lights in the fountain and patriotic music. We waited for two hours until 9:30 pm and the fountain never did anything special except blue lights coming on for about 2 minutes. I was really looking forward to this and we waited for so long for nothing!
