Took our 90 year old matriarch for an outing in April 2012. Very elder friendly, easy handicap access (walker) and a super visit. Well marked and lots of benches to rest. Walkways wide and mostly shady in the morning. Perfect outing

The Jacksonville Zoo has a lot to offer just about everyone. The exhibits are very natural, the gardens are beautiful, and the train, carousel and new 4D penguin attraction give the kids something extra fun to do.

An excellent zoo and gardens in a blue collar town. Could be the best zoo in Florida. Certainly the most improved in the past 10 years.

Just returned from a day at the Jax Zoo with two of my grandkids....ages three and six. Had visited a year ago with my wife and found it to be nice, clean and "right sized". School is not out in this part of Florida yet so the crowds were very small. Kids loved it but probably enjoyed the train, the playground and the carrousel the best....with petting the stingrays up there too. Nice selection of animals that are generally displayed in a natural environment. Started out to be semi-expensive: $50+ for "value tickets". Then $4 for the two kids to feed the giraffes then $30 for lunch brought the total to close to $100 for the three of us...not too bad as these type attractions. But, we got to ride the train and carrousel over and over and over. Nice day!
