“Great way to stay fit and enjoy the St. Johns River”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Our family is a fan of the Riverwalk and have walked end-to-end on both the Northbank and Southbank on many occasions. We are fortunate enough to live walking distance to the Southbank and on fair-weather days we can be found strolling along the river, crossing over the bridges and exploring something new along the way. When we time it right we are out and about at sunset (and the Acosta bridge offers the best view) then head to Friendship Fountain at dusk to catch the lights.

Many times we will stroll when there is an event along the river (Riverside Arts Market, Community First Saturdays, Jax Landing events, fireworks, etc.) making the walk multipurpose. When the weather takes a turn or if we get too tired, there's always the option to take the water taxi or the Skyway back so we never worry about walking too far out of the way. Except for the heat of the summer, we can enjoy the Riverwalk 9 months a year and have started incorporating it into our family fitness plan.

“Riverwalk needs a facelift”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Wooden walk and desperately in need of repair. Used to love going on lazy walks with hubby enjoying the sights and sounds of the riverfront. Many restaurants along the way.

“Nice views at night”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The Jacksonville Riverwalk expands the St. Johns, offering some of the best views of the city.

The Northbank Riverwalk extends from downtown Jacksonville, just past The Landing, and winds its way past the CSX building along the river until it reaches the Fuller-Warren Bridge in Riverside. There are lots of benches where you can take a rest and enjoy the river and the city.

My wife and I spent the evening here on a recent trip to Jacksonville. We took the water taxi from the Wyndham where were were staying. The water taxi was $3 pp one-way.

We were a little disappointed with Jacksonville's famous Riverwalk, as we were expecting so much more. The Jacksonville Riverwalk is just about a block long if not smaller. Most of the people there were quite young.

There are not many restaurant choices and some of them did not get good reviews. We listened to live country western music at the Riverwalk stage. The band was very good.

We walked across bridge back to Wyndham (free), which we would recommend to get a true feel of this area. There are beautiful views at night. The pink water in the fountain is spectacular. The bridges have many lights.

“beautiful sight at night”

Stayed at the Omni. Beautiful area. Ate at Hooters that night, HORRIBLE. Worst wings & service we've ever had! Basically come for the view.
