“Fun for the right age and amount of time”

Not our favorite museum. We vist about once a year to see what is new but it is small and many of the exhibits are not for children under 12. Planetarium needs some serious updating but that may have been done since our last visit.

“Great place to spend a few hours”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

Learn a great deal about the history of Jacksonville and the youngsters will be delighted with the hands-on aspect of the science portion.

“Amazing exhibits, if you can get close enough”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

Before you go, visit the museum's website and buy all tickets online. This will save you TONS of time by not having to stand in l-o-n-g lines waiting to purchase admission tickets. We probably saved ourselves an hour or more by doing this. We went the Wednesday of holiday break, and one employee thought there were more than 10,000 people there that day. It was extremely hard to do any of the hands-on activities as there were so many people there waiting to try each of them. In order to avoid long lines in the cafeteria, plan on going there before 11:30 and bring lots of money. A totally cool place but way too busy during the Christmas holidays. Go mid-week, non-holiday if at all possible to experience this museum's treasures to the fullest.

“Hard to Find- Not Very Good”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

The Museum of Science and History was hard to find (even with a GPS). It is right downtown, so expect to pay at least $5 for parking, plus the entry fee to the museum, which is rather steep for the limited attraction. It is great for little kids, but others will likely not get much from it. Very little in the way of history. The 'science' portion left much to be desired. We will save our time and money next time and skip this stop.

“Mostly for young kids”
Reviewed December 24, 2011

Large museum, however limited attractions for teens and older. Only history was on FL. Very interactive for young kids. Friendly helpful staff.
