We joined friends here for a post concert dinner sitting at an outside table. Inside there is a buzz of happy talk, but we wanted a quieter experience so we sat outside warmed by the heater. The pizza is the thin type that I like. Because they use a wood fired oven it comes very quickly and both the ones we ordered were delicious as was the salad we shared to start. The service was attentive but not intrusive.

Forge is a small restaurant? attached to the outside of a grocery store. Location in Danville is fairly good. You're off the main road and easy walking distance to most everything within this small town.

Food - pizza was very good for wood fired pizza. We ordered one with speck and arugula with a garlic paste. The arugula comes on top fresh, they don't cook it like other places. Having it fresh is the better way to go in my opinion. The pizza itself is small compared to other establishments but would be fine 2-3 adults with an appetizer. We also ordered a half rack of ribs as they were out of chicken wings. The ribs literally fall off the bone. I wouldn't say it's their speciality but it was ok.

Drinks - nice beer menu with mostly local craft beers on tap. Decently priced as well.

Seating - it was a Sunday around 5pm so we were able to seat ourselves no problems. It's a small establishment so just be aware of that if you're coming in at prime time. They do have a bar inside which can be an alternative. Most of the table seating occupied was outside.

Service - friendly and prompt waiter. No issues there. Wait service was very good.

All in all, I'll go back. Compared to a lot of pizza places in this area it was very good. Being from the NorthEast I find California pizza to be a bit lacking so this was a great surprise.

This place is serviceable, but nothing special. Small interior, a bit claustrophobic. The outside looked much more pleasant. Good beer choices, okay food.

Came here for lunch and shared a mushroom pizza and beet/arugula salad. The salad was outstanding and very large. It was a beet salad with lots of arugula. The roasted beets were super tasty, cut super thin. Also had yummy goat cheese. The pizza toppings were good, but the crust was not baked enough and it was soggy. I will return but next time will ask them to bake it longer. If it is still soggy time to order one of the non pizza items on the menu (there are several that sound very tasty).

Love their pizza and the service. It is not located on the main street so the traffic is not going to bother you if you are sitting outside. It is a very casual place and has a good service . I like their beer and wine selection as well. It is very small inside!
