“Friendly staff, good food”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

We've been living in the town next to Danville for 7 years, but this was the first time to dine in this restaurant. We wish we would have come earlier.

We went there right after my daughter's HS graduation. My daughter was wearing lei. The staff recognized and congratulated her right at the door when we stepped in.

Here are what we ordered,

The food was good, the environment was pleasant.

“Delicious for lunch or dinner in Old Danville”
Reviewed July 23, 2011

My mom and I went here twice during our week in Danville; once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were delicious. This is a quiet, upscale place where you can have a beautiful meal with table clothes and great service. The prices are very fair and this is a local favorite. Don't be afraid to go here if you are running around town in shorts or jeans...all are welcome, but you can also go there dressed to impress if you have a special occasion.

“fancy dining, even if you bring the kids”
Reviewed October 13, 2010

We went here for our anniversary. We could not find a sitter, so the kids came along. The wait staff was attentive, bringing crayons and coloring books (not what you'd expect at a fancy restaurant.) The service was awesome. We ordered fondue, which was amazing, and when we ran out of bread, another waiter noticed and brought us more. There was an outdoor seating area, but we sat inside. For the main course, I ordered the pork chop our waitress recommended and it was the winner that night. I"m not even a fan of pork chops, but I was very impressed with this dish. The pear-tini was delicious and strong!

“Inventive and Ecclectic”
Reviewed August 30, 2010

Love their use of local ingredients in creative ways. Interesting menu items change seasonally and use top quality ingredients. ALWAYS order the special if it has ingredients you like--this is where the chef really shines. Attentive and educated wait staff are also a plus. Would give this restaurant a 5 if tables weren't so tightly packed in. Sometimes you are a bit too cozy with strangers.

“An Enjoyable Meal”
Reviewed March 22, 2010

This restaurant is in the Clocktower complex in central Danville. You enter from the back parking lot but this long and narrow facility extends to another patio entrance on the main thoroughfare, Hartz Avenue. The interior has bench style seating along its walls which I felt were a little too compact.

We dined here on a Saturday evening. The menu had just transitioned from its seasonal winter to spring offerings. Our server was a real delight which certainly made for a more memorable experience. The menu selections, from Starters, Salads and Brick Oven Pizzas to Entrees was extensive but concentrated (hopefully this makes sense). All the selections with accompanying sides seemed really good. The wine list also appeared comprehensive but we brought our own bottle incurring a $15 corkage fee.

The beet salad was a very tasty, large portion and the grilled artichokes (recommend) with an aioli dipping condiment were very flavorful. The entree selections all looked and "sounded" great, so I left it to the server to choose my entree. She selected their "signature" double pork chop. Our other dish was a grilled duck breast.

Here is where the expectation did not live up to the quality of the meal. Definitely there was no wow factor. Sadly because we really wanted a home run in our home town, both dishes were just below very good. Our overall rating would be more a high 3.75 vs a 4 to best convey our experience. No room for dessert.

Will we return? Yes but it will be awhile. Meaning a year or so.

We exited through the back patio. There was a live musician with a guitar playing "James Taylor" type songs. It is our understanding that entertainment is an on going practice, which is something we will consider in the summer months!

So yes do go, it should be an enjoyable meal!
