“A Trip Back in Time -- In A Good Way!”

Staying at the Roosevelt Inn is, for us, a return to the kind of clean, well-kept, family-run motel that you just don't find much anymore. The prices are very reasonable, and the "Rustic" rooms (which we prefer) are charmingly old-fashioned. This is not a resort; but if you're looking for peace and quiet and a simple, clean, and welcoming room and breakfast to get you on your way in the morning, this is the place.

Room Tip: The Rustic rooms can accommodate no more than two people, but they also have more modern rooms which...

Very nasty attitude towards guests. Not welcoming. There are lovely new hotels in poughkeepsie. Stay there. I have an indented finger from trying to change channels on the remote control. Granted not on vacation to watch TV but this is 2011 not 1960..

This is a no frills hotel yet very clean and neat with some very nice amenities such as breakfast available in the cafe. The rates were very reasonable and it is located near many restaurants, sites to see such as the Vanderbilt Mansion (across the street) the Roosevelt Home and Val Kill down the street. All in all a very good place to stay. The staff was very friendly and the resident dog is so cute.

Just returned from a week's visit to New York State and the time spent in the Hudson Valley was superb. We stayed at the Roosevelt Inn which is very conveniently located on Route 9. The room was spacious and immaculate. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast though modest was fine for our needs. The cost of the room was about $25 to $50 less than any of the chains in nearby Poghkeepsie. We would definitely stay here again even though it was a no frills place. My only complaint was that it would have been nice to use a swimming pool on those hot days after traveling around, but a pool was not to be had. I guess in Upstate they don't get much use of a pool.

Room Tip: We went with the up-graded room as it was more roomy and had two places for us to do make-up.

near the FDR library, he and Eleanors home, the Culinary Institute of America, and the mid-hudson bridge to get to the west side, it was very convenient and personable. the breakfast has nothing hot except toast. when one of the couples traveling with us had to return early, there was hesitation in applying their second night reservation to our stay. They did do it, but be careful of their cancellation policy (1 week).

Room Tip: ask for a ground floor room.

We had two rooms for two nights and everyone was very pleased with the accommodation: clean, roomy and well equipped. The coffee shop on site was handy for meeting up and preparing own meals. Parking right outside your room of course, and free wireless internet connection. The corgi that greets you on arrival is cute too!

The deluxe room was large, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. It even included a good size refrigerator which was useful for storing purchases from the near-by Culinary Institute. Many attractions are located within 5 miles of the inn. Breakfast consisted of fresh juice, cereal, fruit, hot beverages and pastries. We were glad that the woman at desk informed us of a behind-the-scenes kitchen tour at the Roosevelt mansion that we would have missed without her information.
