We loved our immaculate and well appointed treetop room, with comfortable beds and where every detail was attended to and thoughtful little touches delighted us. We felt very cared for and genuinely "hosted" by these great owners.

Valarie did knockout breakfasts--waffles that floated off the plate, apple cider syrup (homemade) not to be missed, omelette with (homemade) cheese, (homemade) blueberry juice--you get the idea. A lot of heart and talent goes into every aspect of breakfast. We never met Harry, but we met his (homemade) scones and they were superb.

Valarie knew the area thoroughly and had useful tips about how to maximize our time to sightsee. We saw the Culinary Institute, the Vanderbilt Mansion, FDR's home and library and the shopping area in Rhinebeck. We'd like to go back for winery tours someday, and this is where we will stay.

We felt truly pampered and highly recommend Inn the Woods.

Thank you for sharing all the details we take pride in. September has the "Hudson Valley Wine & Food" event held in Rhinebeck each year, many NY State wineries and all our locals all in one location...hope you can find your way back to us.

Inn the Woods is a bright, tidy, relaxing B & B, in the woods, yet a few short blocks from the middle of Hyde Park. Most delightful is the outstanding breakfast prepared with local ingredients, and prepared most lovingly (ask about the home made turkey sausage).

Inn the Woods is tucked away, well, in the woods. It is located very near to the FDR library, Vanderbilt Estate, Marist, CIA and more.

As far as the rooms go, the second floor room has two beds, one with a pillow mattress pad and one with a memory foam pad. The pillows were a little firm for my liking but beyond that everything was quite clean and comfortable.

Valerie, the proprietor, is very knowledgeable about the region and was very helpful in planning our trip. The accommodations are comfortable and quaint. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, homegrown strawberry rhubarb yogurt parfait, apricot scones, and an "eggs benedict" of fresh turkey sausage, spinach, tomatoes, and asiago cheese sauce. If this sort of thing isn't up your alley, she does cook to order and will meet the needs of any sized group. Valerie jars her own preserves, makes her own apple cider syrup, and is now keeping bees so you can look forward to fresh honey in a few months!

Good rooms, above average amenities, great food.

Had a great stay in the Treetop suite at Inn the Woods. So close to everything, and yet it felt a world away. I appreciated the memory foam topper on the one bed, it turned out that it was very timely with a recently strained neck.

Valerie couldn't have been more gracious - and knew so much about the area. I really enjoyed their commitment to sustainability and organic, fresh foods. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat! They make you feel very special - from the fresh fruit and homemade yogurt parfait, to the eggs benedict on home baked English muffins! They do it all, and do it well! I was there to visit the CIA, and between my meals there, and these delightful culinarians, I was completely satiated! I am definitely looking forward to returning when my son starts the CIA.

We had a great time at this B&B. We stayed in the Tree Top suite. The oversize windows (11 of them) gave us a breathtaking view of the wooded area surrounding the Inn. The room was immaculate, spacious yet cozy, and very comfortable. We were a very short and easy ride from FDR, CIA, Vanderbuilt mansion, etc.
Can't say enough about the graciousness of Valerie the Innkeeper. She is so warm and friendly, yet professional in all ways and never intrusive on your privacy. She has a great knowledge of the area, and is very helpful with directions to any of the many attractions that are in this area. We could go on and on about her cooking! In three short mornings we became completely addicted to her unbelievable breakfasts!!

We absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Hyde Park NY area

We stayed here on a trip from Maine to West Virginia. It was half-way, the price was right, and we were ready to stay almost anywhere, except at the places recommended by a local college. We were delighted by the location, the room, the hospitality, the food, the sheer wealth of information that was shared with us. The box lunch was an unexpected surprise as were the directions to and critiques of various sites in the area. Oh, we should add, we run a B&B in Maine and would happilly come back to the Inn in the Woods. It was truly one of the best B&Bs we have ever been in.
