“Waitress spilled red wine all over me”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

We ordered the red wine sampler with dinner, which consisted of three red wines. The waitress knocked the basket holding the wines all over my husband. The assistant manager tried to wipe it off Jim's khaki colored shorts, with cold soda water. She volunteered to take his shorts to the laundry, which meant he had to sit soaking wet to finish the meal, return to the B and B to change clothes, and return to the restaurant with them.
The upsetting part is that they then presented us with the bill, which made no concession for ruining his clothes, having to sit in wet clothes, and our evening. They even charged us for the wine!
Then the waitress denied spilling the wine, saying "I did that?" I said I was upset that they made no concession for our ruined evening, so they took just the wine off the bill! I cannot recommend the service or attitude at this restaurant.

We as a team here at 2 Taste feel absolutely horrible about your recent experience at our restaurant. In all fairness, the bus girl, (not your server) while clearing your plates, accidentally tipped over your husband's wine flight. We understand that it was an inconvenience, certainly a damper on your experience, but our manager went out of her way to make the situation right for you and your husband. Unfortunately, on a Sunday night in Hyde Park, there are no options to get your husband's clothes cleaned, hence that is why our Executive Chef took the liberty on his day off to bring the clothes to the cleaners and make sure that you had them back the same day. Our team makes it a habit of going above and beyond for all of our guests, and we did all we could possibly do to make things right for you. Once again unfortunately, accidents do happen, and we do feel horrible.

“Graduates or not”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

Yes, they are...however, not everyone who graduates from an Art & Design college is worth their salt...or every...designer of clothing is...however, some people just KNOW how to prepare food and take ordinary ingredients and twist them into something people will actually remember..and love..and enjoy...and they have that.
From our appetizer to our main course, everything was interesting and delicious. We choose to sit outside as the night was perfect for a July evening, but the inside had a lot of character, and it would have been great to watch these guys in action. Service was excellent. We were only in town for two nights, however I really fell in love with the area and plan on returning...and I know exactly where I'll be dining.

“CIA graduates”

Since they went to school up the street, the chefs prepare interesting dishes, cooked perfectly without trying to be exotic. Reasonably priced for such good food.

“An unexpected treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Tucked away in a small shopping center, 2 Taste is easy to miss. Luckily for us, we discovered it on a quick trip to visit Hyde Park. Although the tables and booths looked very comfortable, we chose to sit at the chef's bar and highly recommend it. We ordered oysters and had the fun of watching them sizzle in wine and butter and herb. Delicious! Wednesday is pasta night. The linguini with mushrooms and herbs, one of the two special pastas, was cooked perfectly. Even the Caesar salad was unusually good. Justin Lang, the executive chef, trained at the Culinary Institute down the street. Having the chance to chat a bit with him was a bonus. We plan to go back to Hyde Park to have another look at the refurbished Roosevelt Museum and wouldn't miss the chance for another meal at 2 Taste. Those pork chops looked terrific!
