Owner description: Visit FDR's 1826 home that remains almost exactly as it was at the time of the president's death in 1945, including the stables, icehouses, a walking trail, and the graves of Franklin and Eleanor located in the Rose Garden.

I actually liked this place best between here & the Vanderbilts - this was more comfortable & a place I could have lived is I had a gazillion dollars. The great lawn, the stables, the rose garden {which wasn't even in bloom when we were here in April} - the landscape. No wonder why he considered his occupation a 'tree farmer' - FDR obviously loved nature. Yeah, I could live here.

This is a must see attraction. To actually stand in the home of this great american family just gives me chills. The home, the grounds the tour should not be missed. The Roosevelt family history is nothing short of interesting and fascinating. This is a must see attraction worth the admission. Loved it and would return again if given the opportunity. As always are hats are off to the public servents who work for the National Park Service, the guides were informative, pleasant and just do a wonderful job. Its obvious that they love the work they do and we thank them for thier service.

Historical home in the historical Hudson Valley! Political and familial history are very interesting. The preservation of this home is impeccable and allows you to take a step back in time. What a fantastic and admirable era.

My husband is fascinated with presidential history so this trip was for him and it did not disappoint! We were there on a snowy day when they opened late due to the weather conditions. They were very gracious and accommodating. The park rangers and guides were all very knowledgeable and eager to tell stories and answer questions. Great tour of the house.

If you are planning a trip, I would wait until after June 30th when the Presidential Library will be open. Also, a few of the other buildings and homes are not open until either April or May, so although we had a wonderful trip and learned a lot, we both feel that we will have to return to see what wasn't open.
