“A Learning Experience”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

The FDR Presidential Library and Museum has just completed renovations and looks great. Walking through the library takes you through his life from boyhood through his death and after. As you walk through the library you get a chronological education on not just what happened during his life but why and how history happened. The museum is expertly put together using letters, artifacts, and interactive movies and displays.

“Fascinating period in history”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Loved the house, and the museum & library. Very well displayed exhibits and takes you through a very interesting period in US and world history in an engaging way. If you're on the Roosevelt trail or just in the area, with even the vaguest interest in history, make sure you go.

“excellent museum, great learning experience”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Our first visit to a presidential museum and I wonder if they are all so good. We spent hours going through the exhibits and some are multimedia: read about FDR's radio addresses, then push a button to hear one (he spoke clearly and simply, really powerful). The museum does not look large but be aware it can take a long time to go through. We were there about three hours and did not finish.

Highlights: FDR had a Ford Phaeton configured so he could drive it with his hands. It's in the museum. The comments of the Queen are next tot he car, saying she was quite terrified when FDR drove her and King George at high speed to the famous hot dog picnic. Priceless.

“First Pres Library”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

This was our first trip to a presidential library. It was included in our misadventure of the FDR house. They have a very interactive set up of the golden years of Franklin and Eleanor. The layout was kind of confusing, once you got in it was difficult to get out. The best part of the exhibition was FDR's actual office. He is the only president to use his Presidential Library office while still in office

“A Significant Piece of our History”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I think all presidential libraries tell the story from the viewpoint of the president as this one does. FDR was president during significant events in our history and this museum covers all of these in informative and entertaining ways. You can easily spend 3 or 4 hours or more here. There are restrooms in this building and food available at the visitor center. If you are at all interested in the history of our country, you should go to this place whether your political leanings are left or right.
