“great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2009

Great place to stay, fantastic location in Gettysburg Battlefield, pool was perfect, breakfast was wonderful, room was perfect, staff all very friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable (compare to other hotels in Gettysburg). We would definitely stay here again (this was our 2nd time staying at this hotel and it was just as wonderful the previous visit).

I made the reservation after checking into a less desirable motel across the street. and received a 10% discount for advance reservations. We stayed here our 2nd night in Gettysburg. (Budget Inn is gross!) They let us check in early at no extra cost. It had keyed entry hallways, a private balcony and a good breakfast with some hot food. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. Our room was large enough to work for a family of four. The teens loved the outdoor pool with diving board. They also have an indoor pool they open if weather is too cool. We wished we had stayed here both nights as it was very quiet and clean and well worth the money for the area.

We have stayed at this hotel for many years . When we first began our visits we were introduced to Rosie Miller. We continued coming to this motel because of her friendliness and her professionalism. When she became head housekeeper she trained her employees with her standards. Ana has often cleaned our room and is as exact as Rosie . The hotel is always a friendly place to be and is conveniently located for the battlefield, eateries and attractions. We commend the people who work there and make our stay so enjoyable

The hotel was very clean and had everything ready for us when we arrived. The clerks were very knowledgable about where the best places to eat would be and the best way to see the sights of Gettysburg.. The breakfast was very good, very clean area and probably the best selection of items we've seen.!!!!!!!

The hotel sits right on route 30 which was the highway into Gettysburg. It's only a two lane highway so it was quiet and the location is perfect. In Gettysburg, you don't really want a super modern hotel because the town is old and historic so this hotel is perfect. Some of the bed and breadfasts around town were adorable and the hotel at the rotary which is the "Gettysburg Hotel" looked really good too.
I would stay here again. The two people at check in were very nice and they even opened a bottle of wine for me because I couldn't find my cork screw. I loved having our car in a numbered space just outside our room because we went in and out several times and we knew we would still have the same parking space. You also feel very safe here. I usually like inside hotel rooms but this was fine.
My only complaint was the breakfast. I think Sleep Inn's provide a better breakfast. There was no waffle maker or even boiling water and no microwave in the dining area. The only hot food was toast or bagels.
The pool looked great and many people brought their breakfast outside to eat. The pool has water jets that shoot in an arch over the pool. I can see how kids would love this.
Very nice employees and a very clean hotel.

Our family and friends stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. Check in was not until 3pm, but we were able to check in by noon, and the hotel was mostly full. Our room was very spacious and VERY clean. I am really picky about cleanliness and everything was perfect. Mattresses and bedding were very comfortable. Fresh coffee in the office all day and night. Outdoor pool was great. Wasn't crowded at all. Nice loungers and tables. Open till 10pm. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub, but they only open it if the weather is bad.--Only neg. as we would have liked to sit in the hot tub. The location is excellent. It is an easy walk to most attractions, shops, and restaurants.

I spent 2 nights at this hotel in June 09 wfor a family trip (2 adults + 2 children) to Gettysburg.
Location: more than perfect at a short walking distance to: many restaurants (I particlarly enjoyed Dobbos house!), downtown Gettysburg, many attractions including national park (but you need a car to visit the park!)...
Hotel: large room a little bit old :need new colors and new climatisation system (it's under window style; noisy!). No fridge or micro-wave in my rooms; but some rooms do have these aminities. This hotel is on 2 floors with no elevator. My room was on the second floor and I ask to be on the first floor but the told me the haven't availability. I undestand they works a lot with seniors travellers bus tour and the keep the first floors room for their bus tour.
Checking: nice peoples but the one who serves me made many mistake; wrong key / wrong room and 20 minutes after we arrived in our room she assigned the same room to another clients; I was surprised to see this person opening my door!
Pool: really nice outside pool; my kids enjoyed it!
Breakfast: really good and included with your room.
In regards of the great location and the price I paid I enjoyed this hotel and would go there again.
