Nice place in Gettysburg- we arrived very late in the night. So we only wanted a bed- the staff was very helpfull and funny, the price is great ( we payed 88 Dollars) and the bed ok. Clean and big rooms. Breakfast could be bether, but all in all we liked our stay here.

I first stayed at this hotel on my Honeymoon in 2005. Since then, my husband and I have returned for three trips, and each time we have stayed here. The location is absolutely unbeatable - nestled between the High Water Mark & the Soldier's National Cemetery. Downtown is a short walk, with plenty of places to stop & explore on the way. Across the street is the Wax Museum, which almost always has something interesting going on - on our last trip, I grabbed a cup of coffee from the continental breakfast and walked across the street to visit a Rebel Encampment, have a book signed by perennial visitor Jeff Sharra, and watch a local radio personality interview "Robert E. Lee" as well as author & historian Allen Guelzo!
The staff of the hotel is always friendly and the rooms are always clean. But make no mistake - this Quality Inn is no frills. The continental breakfast, while perfectly serviceable, offers little in the way of variety. The rooms are standard chain-hotel quality, with minimally comfortable beds & cheap furniture. If you can, I recommend staying in a first-floor room, so you're able to just walk out your door and experience the ambiance of the town.
Like all other hotels on Earth, the prices are astronomical during major events - my husband & I dropped almost $1,600 for a nine-night stay during the Sesquicentennial. But the proximity to the battlefield, and ability to leave the car & walk to a lot of the events was priceless. If you're visiting in the off-season (winter/spring) the rates are drastically lower, and you still get the fabulous location. Happy travels!

The Quality Inn-Gettysburg Motor lodge is located close to everything. The rooms are modern and very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included with the room and is very nice. The property is well maintained. Our requested room on the first floor was quiet, no smoking and no pets and with an assigned parking space...no driving around looking for a space. A great place to stay!

Room Tip: While this is a two story facility with no elevators, all you have to do is request a ground floor r...

We stayed here for two nights in early August while touring Gettysburg with our 3 teenagers. Really should get 3 stars, but the diving board in the outdoor pool merits a star of its own - seriously, no one has diving boards anymore - my kids loved it!

Rooms were very average, could absolutely use some updating. Beds were either very very worn or just really really soft. DH and I hated the bed, but kids didn't seem to mind. Shower pressure left a lot to be desired, too.

Location is great, though, close to battlefield and shops and restaurants. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast house is kind of small, try going around 9.30 - not as crowded then. I would stay here again if I'm with my kids if only for the pool. Otherwise, we'll probably look elsewhere next visit.

Thank you for the review. You're right- diving boards are few and far between these days and I'm glad your kid enjoyed the opportunity to use it! We use the bedding that is required by Choice Hotels and we do receive many compliments on the comfort of the beds, but I realize bedding is an extremely subjective topic! We have twice the amount of seating that is required for a property of our size but I know during peak breakfast times it can get a bit tight. I'm so glad you were able to take advantage of our great location during your stay in Gettysburg!

My wife and i spent a night at the Quality Inn mid July. Not sure what we expected, but we were more than pleased. The room was clean, pool area very nice and breakfast was wonderful.....especially the quaint separate cottage like house that we ate in, A highlight for me was the Reliance Saloon! Very unique!
We would certainly recommend this place to anyone stopping over in Gettysburg. My wife and I will certainly be returning in the future.

We stayed at the Quality Inn Motor lodge for a few nights in July. The location was very convenient to the historic area and to the Visitor's Center at the Battlefield. But the room itself was sub-sandard. The room had a musty smell, it was quite noisey with car doors slamming all night. The rooms could definitely use a renovation, at least put new carpet in. Old and tired, not charming. If you are just styaing for a quick visit it would be ok if nothing else is available in town.

Room Tip: Away from pool area, no elevator so ask for a ground floor room if you have heavy bags or need assis...

We stayed for 3 nights and the room was perfect. Hotel was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The only concern/issue I had was when the air conditioner turned on, it sounded like a plane was taking off. :)

Breakfast was good, but to beat the crowd - you have to go either at 7am or 9am. Anytime in the middle, you won't be able to find a place to sit since it is so crowded.

Thanks for the nice review! We do offer twice the amount of seating that Choice Hotels requires us to offer for a property of our size, but during the busy season it can be a bit tight! I hope we see you again the next time you return to Gettysburg!
