We came up for the civil war reenactment weekend. Always the most friendliest staff, if we needed anything they were there. The room was spotless and very relaxing. The continental breakfast was amazing! Everything is located within walking distance of the hotel. No need to waste gas or coins for parking meters. The air condition unit was the best, it was 100 degrees outside but the room was cool and comfortable.

Room Tip: We had a room on parking level right next to the pool and easy access to the lobby. Very quiet even...

Thank you for the wonderful review! We are glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. We love to hear that we did a good job. The reenactors are so dedicated. It was so very hot this past week end and it did not stop them! They did an awesome job! We thank them for bringing a part of our town's history to life. Thank goodness your A/C worked well. I think the units had to work overtime. I hope that you will continue to visit us. You are always welcome at the 1863 Inn of Gettysburg! Have a wonderful Summer and thank you again for the great review. See you soon!

We stayed at the 1863 Inn in a bit of a pinch; our power was out, and we were seeking refuge from the heat. The Inn is not a fancy place. It reminded me of a more upscale version of the "no frills hotels" that I stayed at with my parents when I was a child. That being said, our stay was delightful. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was exceedingly clean (indeed, far cleaner than many of the fancy places in which we have stayed). The room contained a very nicely-sized refrigerator ideal for chilling drinks or sandwiches. The fitness center was small, with few equipment choices -- but what was there was functional for a short workout. You could walk to many restaurants and attractions; others were a short drive away. Overall, an excellent stay.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your visit with us. We are glad that we were able to provide you with a clean, comfortable room during such a terrible time. That power outage affected so many people. We hope that things are back to normal for you. Thank you again for the wonderful review. Hopefully you can visit us in the future under better circumstance.

Stayed here as the B@B we were moving to was full for the night of our arrival. The front desk was nice not very informative but we were tired. The room was better than we expected and the pool was clean. We were able to walk to different shopping across the road and also restaurants.Think this gets top score for location and easy to park.

Room Tip: A room at the back of the hotel would be quiter if traffic noise is a problem or you are a light sle...

Our first reason for staying at the 1863 Inn of Gettysburg is its location. You can literally walk out the front door and easily reach East Cemetery Hill, Cemetery Hill, all in town points of interest, ghost tours, Jenny Wade House, and so much more. But beyond its location, it is a nice place to stay. We have stayed 3 times and have never had a bad experience. Front desk people are very nice and very helpful. There is something for everyone at the morning breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The last time we stayed we were bumped up to a King bed room with a jacuzzi bath and it was wonderful! I already recommend this place to my friends planning a visit to Gettysburg.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front have a good view of things but can be noisier at night. They do have indoor acce...

Traveled here with a group of teachers to the Gettysburg area. Not a good experience. Had to switch hotels the next day. Apparently the rooms in the front of the hotel were ok, but the rooms in the back had an odor, mine was one of them. Very drab looking when you walked in. Only a full size bed. Couldn't tell you the last hotel that I stayed in that had full size beds. Bathroom was clean.

Very disappointed based on on reviews on TripAdvisor.

Location is good. Most positive thing about it.

I do apologize for the fact that your group leader decided to disrupt your entire group for no reason. Apparently some of your group was familiar with Trip Advisor and before visiting our hotel read the reviews posted soon after we renovated these rooms. These rooms have been rented for about 3 months now and there is no "new" smell any longer. But I believe that the notion was already there that you would have an issue. We have filled several times in the course of those 3 months including two days before your arrival and not one complaint about any odor. I personally, along with 4 others employees and a General Manager from one of the other hotels in town, went to each room after your group leader moved the entire group and found nothing to warrent such a drastic measure. There is no odor and certainly nothing drab about them! These rooms are beautiful-new carpet, bedding, drapes and paint. As for the room having "only a full size bed"- most hotels offer 2 double beds or 1 king bed. Most visitors are very satisfied with the 2 double beds. Your group leader had visited our property before booking your visit and was delighted with her choice. She inspected the rooms with 2 double beds. She signed the contract. When I spoke to her the day that your group left town I explained that we found no odor. I could not understand why an entire group of 30 rooms was made to pack up and move. She mentioned to me that we would be hearing negative comments such as yours. I certainly do not like seeing such reviews. We take all reviews seriously. Every hotel receives both good and bad reviews. It is up to the reader to decide which ones to take to heart and which ones to take with a grain of salt. As I mentioned, we found no odor. There was absolutely no reason to move an entire group. It was a very extreme decision.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back.Baltimore St can be noisy in summer
