We just got back from a 2 night stay at this gem of an inn. Everything was wonderful. We shared the Getty's Suite with my in-laws and it was just super.

Stayed 2 nights for a brief visit to Gettysburg. This is THE B&B to stay in. The owners were wonderful hosts and chefs. The homemade pastries were scrumptious, the decor was charming, and period-authentic, the bed was perfectly cozy and the sheets were amazing. We stayed in the loft, which was actually two immaculate rooms and a private bathroom rwith plenty of space. All in all a perfect stay. If I had any criticism at all, it was the noise the air conditioning made at night. Otherwise, it could not have been a better stay. We will definitely want to visit again. A wonderful city with too much to do in only two days. Now I know why our friends go back year after year.

The inn is beautiful! The breakfast is delicious and worth the trip alone! Very helpful and friendly owners and staff! We stayed in the peach tree suite 2 nights. It was beautiful, and plenty of room for 2 -4 guests. Its location is perfect for getting the true Gettysburg experience! A+

Stayed for two nights at the Brafferton Inn. Firstly, the location is excellent for walking the town of Gettysburg. Be aware that the street in front of the inn does have heavy truck traffic but I have to say we slept well without being disturbed by it. Rooms are period and as a result will not look like a modern hotel. But that's why people stay at B&B's. I'm not fond of window ac's but it did the job. When we first checked in I thought the staff was a little cool but by the time I left I found them to be very friendly and accommodating. I'm sure there is a lot of pressure in running a place like this. Breakfast was great and the coffee excellent. This is a nice place to stay understanding that it is the oldest house in Gettysburg.

My husband and I just returned home to Houston from our visit to Gettysburg. We stayed at the Brafferton Inn and just loved the house. The innkeepers are very kind and knowledgable about the area, giving great advise on dining, the battlefield etc. Breakfast was outstanding! The homemade muffins were to die for. Our bedroom was located in the 1786 house, and brought us back in time to when this tragedy happened here in Gettysburg. They also have more modern bedrooms with Jacuzzi tubs if you would prefer that style. We will definately recommend to all our friends.

The innkeThe innkeepers are a bit curt and not accommodating. We delayed our arrival from Friday night to Saturday morning so as not to inconvenience the innkeepers. They were only concerned that we did not arrive after they had left and that we knew that we had to pay for the night not used. Arriving for breakfast on Saturday morning, hoping for something spectacular, we were all disappointed by the “casseroles” provided. Maybe we had been spoiled by southern B&Bs such as The Hope & Glory Inn or Widow Kip’s. Our room was nothing special. The window A/C was adequate but noisy. The tvs were old and small. The fixtures, while not civil war era, were tired and worn. Thankfully we did not have to shower.

A note from the owners. These guests called on Friday, the day they were checking in, to let us know they needed a late check in. (We normally check guests in from 3pm to 8pm.) At 8pm we do lock our doors and close our office. They stated they would probably arrive around 9pm, so we provided them with our cell phone number and asked them to call when they arrived in Gettysburg. They later called back and said forget about us arriving tonight, we will come in the morning for breakast. As a courtesy, we explained that they would still be responsible for Friday night, even though they were not actually going to stay the night. They totally understood the circumstances, and in no way were we rude about explaining this.
The guests did show up for breakfast the following morning, and were cooked the same full breakfast we cooked to our other 37 guests. Our breakfasts always contain at least three entree selections, fresh fruit, homemade pastries, and coffee, tea, juice etc. Guest reaction to our breakfasts are always positive and we always get excellent feedback, as you can read in other reviews.
These guests actually then stayed Saturday night in our Loft Suite, the original attic of our 1786 house. Yes, it is a period room, with all original flooring, walls, stone, brick, and fixtures from 1786.
These guests then checked out on Sunday morning, after their second breakfast, but did not say a word to us about being unhappy. Maybe some of these issues could have been resolved if something was mentioned to us.

Thank You,

The Hodges Family

Excellent stay at the Brafferton Inn. Loved the charm and beauty of the Inn's lobby including the artwork and furniture. The breakfast served is worth the trip alone, amazing! Our room was the Brafferton Suite which was very nice, private and cozy - exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed the comfy bed, large bathroom and the reserved parking space (which made parking in the busy district very easy). Noise level from outside was moderate and never a factor. The Inn provides a tour of the properties at check-in and is willing to help with restaurant rec's and reservations. Already recommended the Inn to my family and friends as a must stay if ever in Gettysburg.
