My wife and I were happy to get a room at this busy B&B located in the center of town. The Hoke room was simple but adequate. The squeaky floors gave an authentic charm to this domain built in 1776. Jean and her son were charming, hospitable and friendly. We loved the location and enjoyed the hearty breakfast, especially the unique and delicious muffins. The room was always cleaned on time and when we were away sightseeing. The cookies in the afternoon were a special treat. Many of the guests were former guests so it is important to book early to get a room at this popular B&B.

Room Tip: Book early to get a bigger room.

Thank you so much for your review. I had a great time meeting and chatting with you over your four day stay. I am also so glad you liked our breakfast pastries. They have been a big hit over the years. Thanks again and we hope to host you again sometime in the future.

The Brafferton was an excellent place to stay, in the heart of Lincoln Square, and the food was delicious. The staff is friendly and accomodating, and the house is clean and well-kept. Don't miss the back deck and garden that is a beautiful oasis -- a place to sit with your coffee and detox. We will definitely be back!

Thank you so much! I had a great time meeting you both, and really enjoyed your home roasted coffee!
Cooking breakfast is my passion, so I am flattered you enjoyed my meals.
Hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I stayed a Fall Thursday evening in the Brafferton Suite. We wanted a romantic getaway not far from home before our second child was born. We enjoyed out stay, but were a little surprised that the suite was not in the building itself, but rather down the street a few doors. None the less is was a very nice stay with a wonderful Jacuzzi for two, robes, shower & full bathroom, beautiful bedroom and sitting room with a nice fireplace. It was very romantic and nice to have fridge in the room for all the romantic food we packed. The room is above a Civil War/ Gettysburg collectibles and antique stores which housed many older relics and authentic pieces. The street noise was a constant issue throughout the night for me as a pregnant lady up every hour to sirens and the bright street light outside the window. It could have just been the night and we are not from the city so any traffic is loud to us. They had a very nice Kerige Coffee maker in the room also. The Brafferton Suite came with a porch but it is shared with 1-2 other rooms ad faces a brick wall 6 feet from the balcony and looking down you see an alley. A great romantic room and inn keepers were very sweet. All were kind and the food served was nothing short of AMAZING! Beware this is a bed and breakfast and you have to take the old with the new and the rustic with the area. If you are looking for everything to “up to date, new technology, and spotless newness this is not the place.” Charm and a timeless beauty make this B&B so special. Another plus to this suite is a private parking spot out back. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton and hope that you do also.

I am so glad you chose the Brafferton Inn for your stay before your new baby is born! I am also so glad you got to use the Jacuzzi tub and porch area outside the room. Breakfast is a big part of our morning, and I really enjoy hearing you found it AMAZING.
Yes, the suite you chose is on the road, and it can be noisy with traffic. Downtown Gettysburg is a busy little town. We have addressed the issue with the street light by buying thicker curtains, so no light can now get in the room.
Good luck with the baby!

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for three nights this month. It was a very enjoyable stay! Joan and Brian, the innkeepers, were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. We stayed two nights in the Pear Tree Suite and it was perfect in every way. The last night we stayed in the Getty, and it was large and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat, with good selections and delicious food. The freshly baked afternoon cookies were a real treat. Our stay at the Brafferton Inn was one of the highlights of a three week trip. We recommend this very highly and hope to return again someday!

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending three nights at the Brafferton Inn in late September 2013. We called to see if we could arrive one day early, which Brian graciously arranged. We were in a one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms the first night! The second and third night we transferred to the Pear Tree, another one bedroom suite with lovely outside private garden. Both rooms had flat screen TVs, fireplaces, were huge and had whirlpool bathtubs, lots of counter space, separate showers. The inn is spotless, located nearly at the center of Gettysburg and within walking distance of everything. The inn owners were very helpful with suggestions of restaurants and things to do in town. Brian's breakfasts were the most impressive, with fresh fruit, fresh baked pastry each morning, and a choice of a breakfast casserole, two different scrambled egg dishes and pancakes or French toast every morning. I highly recommend a long stay at the inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn September 10th through the 12th, 2013. We loved the Inn from our very first look at it. It is an historic building (the original house was built in the late 1700's), so it has lots of charm. The owners have updated the rooms and there is a mix of old and modern that blends well together. The breakfasts served daily (table service, not buffet) were delicious with a variety of entrees each day and more food than we could eat. There were freshly baked cookies each afternoon and lovely gardens and patio deck for relaxing. The owners were very friendly with lots of suggestions for dining and with tips for visiting the battlefield. We felt so welcomed that it was like we were visiting friends. We will be back.

We had a lovely suite but had to go to the lobby for wifi, and the selection of TV channels was very limited. Gettysburg does not have much nightlife (not that we go out a lot at night), so that was a problem. We did have access to a nice porch and outdoor garden, but it was too hot to use them. Breakfast was good, but not really memorable. The owners and other staff were very friendly and pleasant.

Room Tip: Brafferton Suite was very roomy and private, with a separate sitting room that can be closed off (ex...
