“Bed yes, Breakfast ?”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Beautiful grounds, excellent location with lovely and spacious room; soft drinks and water along with mini-candies, cake and brownies available for guests throughout the day. But the breakfast- 3 very meager courses (including half a piece of bread! 3 penny-sized pancakes!), all with a focus on the sweet. When the server was told one of the guests had an alergy to the ingredient in the fruit salad and therefore inedible, no offer to provide an alternative.

When checking in a guest, Kenny and I always ask if there are any food allergies or dietary needs. By making us aware of this, we can better plan a safe alternative. There may be times when guests are hesitant to reveal there dietary needs and when breakfast is served they realize it is something that they can’t have. Our procedure at that point is to offer an alternative. It sounds as thou this did not happen and for that we are sorry. No matter where you are staying, make sure to tell the Innkeeper that there is an allergy or dietary need. We strive and work very hard to make sure all guest are happy and enjoy their stay here at the Baladerry Inn.

Four of us stayed for a couple of nights in early August. We loved everything about the place. Judy and Kenny were both very welcoming, the building is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and clean and the breakfasts freshly prepared and tasty. Eating breakfast on the patio overlooking their big lawn was very relaxing. They even have a hot tub.

We stayed for three nights at the end of July. We will certainly return any chance we get. The history of the region aside, this is by far the best B & B experience we have ever had. We have stayed in B&B's in Scotland, Canada, and here in the good old US of A many times. We do not believe the hospitality, comfort, and just shear enjoyment of this home can bematched, period.

If you or your family is coming to Gettysburg, Stay Here! You will not be sorry.

Enjoyed our one night getaway at the Baladerry Inn. The Inn is loacated very close to the Gettysburg Park yet far enough to experience the wonder of a quiet and peaceful spot in the countryside. We enjoyed a restful night on the king-size bed in the Vines room which was located in the older part of the building. I loved the charm of the room and it was well decorated, clean and inviting. All the rooms seem to be equally nice. The breakfast was seved to us in three courses and was both delicious and satisfying. Ken and Judy were wonderful hosts. We are already planning our next trip to the Baladerry Inn.

Kenny and Judy were great hosts. The location is perfect. It is about a mile from the visitors center. It offers a quiet country setting, yet it is only minutes away from everything. The place was immaculate. There wasn't even a speck of dust on the mini-blinds. They served a 3 course breakfast in the morning. The 24 hour access to the complementary drinks was great. We were also able to enjoy their outdoor hot tub.

I have to nit pick because it is my personality, but don't let it discourage you from staying at the inn. They only have WIFI in the main house. It is not available in the carriage house. They are planning on adding it in the future. The inn has all hardwood floors so the noise can carry if you have loud guest staying near your room. I would have loved to play on the tennis court, but they are dismantling it due to lack of guest interest.

Our room was in the original house which definitely has a true feel back to its origins. Thanks

Four of my family stayed at the Baladerry Inn from 6/17/12-6/18/12 and we had one of the most wonderful stays that any of us have had anywhere else. The Inn was exceptionally well kept inside and outside. The room was immaculate and had all the amenities you could ask for. The food was exceptional and they were very accommodating of my husbands food likes and dislikes. There were brownies out the whole time we were there and you could have all types of coffees, teas, and hot chocolate at any time of the day or night. They also had sodas, water and juice boxes available. The owners, Judy and Kenny, were absolutely the nicest and friendliest people that I have ever met. They took the time to make you feel welcome and to make sure everything was the way you wanted. We really got to talk to them extensively and they made us feel like we were right at home. We now consider this our home away from home. We love to go Gettysburg as often as possible and most of the time get there 3-4 times a year and have stayed elsewhere before, but now this is the only place that I will be staying at from now on - as long as I keep going to Gettysburg. I really love this Inn and the owners. They get the highest possible score from me that you could possibly give them.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Cottage Rose Suite and checked out all of the other rooms that were available and c...
