Stopped in Gettysburg for a bite to eat and really enjoyed the food here. The outdoor seating was quaint and comfortable. We really loved how they preserved the architecture of the building while incorporating modern day amenities. The staff was more then welcoming and actually looked like they didn't mind being at work!

Looking forward to returning when we are in the area for Thanksgiving. Save a room for us, we'll see you then!

Overall a good hotel with a great location in the center of town. Convenient to restaurants, shopping and historic sites. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean and updated. The only negative was that I had booked a 2 room suite for our 5-person family, and there was not much room to walk around the sitting area when the couch was pulled out into a bed.

The outside of the hotel is historic looking but the inside all is re-done and modern. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I was concerned about parking but there is a garage in the back where you can come and go for a reasonable fee. You can walk to stores and restaurants but most shops seem to close early. I would stay here again !

Overall a nice trip to this historic town. The hotel was recently updated. Nice front desk team and the rooms were clean.
Perfect location in the center of town. Did not check out the new restaurant on property. Will be back again for the holidays.

Certainly the Gettysburg Hotel has the location - right at Lincoln Square. And, it has history, dating back to 1797. However, the hotel has been made into the average to slightly above average modern hotel. Comfortable but not great. Customer service is inconsistent. About half the staff are very friendly and helpful and the other half could care less. Our room was located in a back building just above the Majestic Hotel (a grand historic theater that is truly just steps from the hotel). The noise level at night was unbearable. The bathroom was very small as was the shower. We had a queen suite and if you really want to use the queen sofa, I would recommend another type of accommodation. Housekeeping was poor to average. Never came before 4 pm and never cleaned the entire room. We asked for extra towels and only got them the first day - even after asking again. The restaurant is OK but like customer service very inconsistent. I would say their best meal is breakfast - some tasty and different options. Lunch is OK and dinner depends on what you order. The restaurant, I think, has promise but needs a push to be something special. We found food in the other restaurants near the hotel to taste better and for the most part be a better value. I had the occasion to sit in the lobby waiting several times and my own listening to the front desk staff deal with customers reinforced my own inconsistent experiences with service. Some questions and requests got dealt with in a great way, others were greeted by staff who simply seemed to want to the guests to go away. On one occasion, the staff member joked with another staff member about a question a customer had asked. Very inappropriate. So, if location is most important, this may be your place. If service and value are more important, choose something else. After learning how easy it is to park in downtown Gettysburg, I will go back to staying a little out of town and enjoy a good night's rest with some quiet when I want it. And, if its history you want, there is not much left of it in this hotel. It has been renovated to the point, you can't tell that you are even in a historic building. Out of courtesy and considering location, I give it an average overall rating. But as you can see, this hotel has a lot of improving to do to meet most experienced travelers expectations.

Room Tip: I guess a back room away from the street would offer more quiet. I overheard many guests discussing...

This hotel is in the center of it all. The staff is incredible and helpful. Rooms are immaculate. We had gotten a 2 night stay package through AAA which included breakfast and a dinner. The restaurant there at the hotel, well lets just say the the Texas toast bacon egg n cheese was out of this world! The service was too! DebS from CT

We stay here last summer and it was very nice. The hotel is historical and has plenty of atmosphere. The restaurant was very good and convenient to the hotel. In addition the location is nice. The service is good too. The best thing about staying here was the location. Abraham Lincoln gave his address the 2nd night we were there.
