My husband and I stopped for lunch in the outside garden. The atmosphere was wonderful. The sounds of a waterfall were enchanting. We had very good food. The peanut soup was so unique and tasty.

I am not sure how this place stays in business except the tourists like me go here because of the provenance of the building. There were 18 of us and i can say that not 1 person was happy with their meal.

Cold soup, Crab cakes that were so salty and just barely warm probably frozen, chicken cold inside.

Please do not go here

Took my mother here ate in the tavern. Great food and movie memorabilia to see of the movie Gettysburg. Really like the Decor and food was terrific!

The indoor tavern and the outdoor patio and bar are charming. The tavern is centrally located and easy to walk to from major sites. The waitresses are dressed in period clothing and the tavern is decorated with memorabilia from the movie Gettysburg, as some scenes were filmed here and the cast and crew would often frequent the tavern after shooting. Despite all this going for it, the food was uninteresting and just ok. Thought they boast an authentic civil war menu, most of the items were usual fare with just fancy names. Only a handful of dishes were authentic. The Goober Peanut soup, though an authentic recipe, was not very good. Given all that it has going for it, overall the experience was a real disappointment.

We ate here our first night in Gettysburg. The actual house and tavern were closed for a private party so we ate outside of the tavern. Food was excellent. Good menu and choice of many different sides. The pumpkin fritters are to die for!!! Kayla was our server. She was very friendly and efficient. Good experience all around!!
