“The theme is a lot of irritation.”
Reviewed September 30, 2009

Our stay here was full of small irritants that add up to a thumbs down. We had a room with a king-size bed and a pull-out sofa bed. If we had needed the sofa bed we would have had to walk on the mattresses because the room was so small. The tv could not be angled so it could be viewed from the bed and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable when used as a couch.. The tv remote had to be angled exactly right or it would not work - and the angle was not a normal one - so it always seemed like a struggle to change channels. And the picture was not as good as the usual chain hotel.

The room was clean and well-maintained, but the toilet seat would not stay up, which is rather annoying if you are male.

In terms of the public space: ther was only one guest computer for a rather large hotel, so people were fighting to get access, the front desk was never staffed so you had to wait to be noticed on the closed-circuit tv in the back room and then for someone to come out.

The net of these things is that this is a chain hotel with a little less to offer than most others..

Nothing really stood out for deficiencies or anything exceptional. Good location for exploring Gettysburg. No free breakfast but close to McDonalds, etc.

The room was large and very clean and the bed was the most comfortable I found in a hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast Buffet was good with a lot of items to chose. A/C work good low noise, restaurant next to hotel very good. I would go back again.

A bit out of lively Gettysburg and quiet, but close enough to town and the battlefield visitor center. Staff is very friendly, free self serving washing machine, coffee in the morning and the evening, free internet access in the lobby. With a good Priceline rate, nothing to complain. Would stay there again.

Clean, new, great location ~ and for the AAA discount we got on the room, it was a great deal. I would highly recommend for families traveling to Gettysburg. Our only disappoint was the pool is small and the soda machines didn’t work on 2 floors.

We loved how new and clean the hotel is. Service was great, no problems at all. One of the big pluses was the brand new movie theatre complex next door. Our teenagers went and saw Harry Potter while we were staying there and that allowed us a chance to have a nice quiet dinner in downtown Gettysburg without the teenage angst mixed in! The pool was nice, big enough to get wet anyway. About the only thing negative I can think of was the price, $9.95 for the breakfast buffet. $40 for breakfast was not worth it, so we passed and hit the places in town for much less.

When we come back to Gettysburg, we will stay here again.

We stayed at the Marriott because of the great rate we got from Priceline and were extremely impressed with the entire experience.
The hotel is located outside of Gettysburg itself, but is right off the highway and only 3-4 miles to either the battlefield or to the downtown area. Actually, I thought the quieter location was more relaxing after a day of traveling and sightseeing.
The property is spotless, with a beautiful lobby and especially friendly and helpful desk staff. There are computers available for public use in the lobby, which also has complimentary coffee and tea available throughout the day.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a king-size bed, a sitting area with a couch/ pull-out bed and desk, and a large immaculate bathroom. There was a coffeemaker in the room, but no fridge, which would have been useful.
There is also a pool, hot tub, and exercise room - all appeared to be as well-maintained as the rest of the hotel.
Breakfast is not included, but is available at the lobby cafe for about $10. There is an excellent restaurant across the driveway for dinner if you choose not to go back into town - The Eagle Cafe - very good food and service.
Also, this a non-smoking property , which made it even more attractive to us.
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay!
