“Great Hotel, Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2009

We loved how new and clean the hotel is. Service was great, no problems at all. One of the big pluses was the brand new movie theatre complex next door. Our teenagers went and saw Harry Potter while we were staying there and that allowed us a chance to have a nice quiet dinner in downtown Gettysburg without the teenage angst mixed in! The pool was nice, big enough to get wet anyway. About the only thing negative I can think of was the price, $9.95 for the breakfast buffet. $40 for breakfast was not worth it, so we passed and hit the places in town for much less.

When we come back to Gettysburg, we will stay here again.

We stayed at the Marriott because of the great rate we got from Priceline and were extremely impressed with the entire experience.
The hotel is located outside of Gettysburg itself, but is right off the highway and only 3-4 miles to either the battlefield or to the downtown area. Actually, I thought the quieter location was more relaxing after a day of traveling and sightseeing.
The property is spotless, with a beautiful lobby and especially friendly and helpful desk staff. There are computers available for public use in the lobby, which also has complimentary coffee and tea available throughout the day.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a king-size bed, a sitting area with a couch/ pull-out bed and desk, and a large immaculate bathroom. There was a coffeemaker in the room, but no fridge, which would have been useful.
There is also a pool, hot tub, and exercise room - all appeared to be as well-maintained as the rest of the hotel.
Breakfast is not included, but is available at the lobby cafe for about $10. There is an excellent restaurant across the driveway for dinner if you choose not to go back into town - The Eagle Cafe - very good food and service.
Also, this a non-smoking property , which made it even more attractive to us.
I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay!

This was our first stay at the Marriott. Boy, were we impressed! The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was immaculate. My children loved the pool. Coffee was available throughout the day with flavored creamers. High speed internet was complimentary in our room and the lobby. And the location was great - close to shopping and historical sites. I would highly recommend this hotel, and plan on staying again on our next visit to Gettysburg.

The Courtyard offers large, very well maintained and cleaned rooms. We were delighted with the attitude of the employees from front desk through housekeeping to wait staff and cooks at the lovely breakfast. And that breakfast certainly offers a wide choice of items! The room heating/AC worked very well - even the view out our window was a delight. This motel is to be highly recommended!

This is our second trip to Gettysbury PA in as many years and both time we stayed at the |Marriott. Both times were great. The staff was quite accomodating, they allowed us to park our motorcycles under their covered area near the front door. This was really appreciated especially when it poured one evening last year. This year, we went to Gettysburg during Bike Week so there were thousands of bikes in town, and dozens at the hotel. So we parked in the lot and in the covered area.
The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and there were always plenty of towels and amenities. One of the best King beds I have been in ! Slept like a baby- The pool area was adequate and the location was fine..just a few minutes to the downtown square (circle) and the museum and all of the wonderful sites in Gettysburg. There is not much in the way of restaurants nearby.

The one thing I would have liked is to have a rate including breakfast, we chose to eat elsewhere, but that does not detract from this wonderful hotel.

Stayed with family for 2 nights in June to tour Gettysburg. Did quite a lot of debating on where to stay and I have to say I was very pleased with my selection. Nice, clean, quiet, enjoyable stay. Staff was helpful and courteous. No problems whatsoever! Maybe a little removed from tourist area, but well worth the short drive.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is new and clean. The rooms are quiet. I had read that it was out of the way, but it's really not. I live in a rural area so we are used to driving 15 minutes to get to a grocery store. This is nothing like that. It's very close to restaurants and shopping and 5 mins. or less to the center of Gettysburg. If you want to walk out of your hotel and walk to the shops in Gettysburg, this is not a good location for you. However, with the amount of traffic and noise that I saw around the center of town, it was nice to be able to return to a hotel where there wasn't a lot of outside noise. I was disappointed that our room wasn't ready when we checked in. We had a long day of driving with three children. However the staff did there best to get us into rooms that were ready. The pool is a little small, especially since the hotel was almost booked when we stayed. It was a popular place for kids in the evening hours and seemed crowded. The spa was out of order one of the two days that we were there. They gym was nice. We traveled with my parents and they really enjoyed the hotel.
