This is 4 floors with an elevator. New museum and very well laid out. A must see when in the area. In the original building.

This is such an overwhelming place to visit. We visited on National Museum Day so it was free to get in but we did pay for the cupola tour which was $22.00 per person. I think it was totally worth it. The museum is wonderful. They tell you to start on the fourth floor which gives you an overview of the Battle of Gettysburg and then you go down to the third floor which shows about the injuries and deaths during the battle. The second floor is about religion and how the slaves/freed slaves were treated during the war. I loved going up into the cupola and our tour guide showed us where different things happened. It was awesome and totally worth it. I would highly recommend going and planning on spending a good two and a half hours or so there.

Very nice displays and love the layout. Has numbered rooms on each floor so you can follow the sequence of events. Nice staff.

This museum opened on July 3 rd, the 150th anniversary of the battle. The hospital function this building played during the war is portrayed in diorama-like scenes. The trip up to the cupola offers a view across Seminary Ridge and surrounds.
