A delightful place to rest, recover, and fill up on delicious food. Nothing fancy, but concern for taste and presentation was evident. Visiting Gettysburg for the day, friends suggested the Inn. I'm happy we went. The soups and sandwiches were very tasty, and the service very attentive.
We were there off-season, but our friends eat there often without complaint.
The downstairs pub is small and cozy with historic pub style. The main floor has a more,high-end menu and seating. It remains historic, but lighter and brighter.
Worth the visit and a short journey to the past.

We were traveling as a high school band/choir group and ended our very long day at the Dobbin House. We had the group dining area and a fabulous buffet ready when we walked in. There was a fresh salad bar, penne pasta, chicken, ham, rice, potatoes, veggies, great bread and delicious desserts. We had two fabulous staff members waiting on us, I did not get the name of our waitress, but she was there, seemingly attending every table all at once. I am not sure how she did it, but the lemonade and water pitchers were always filled and dirty plates whisked away immediately. It was easy to tell that our group was enjoying the food, as the noise level dropped and stayed low as the kids ate, as well as the adults. A very nice restaurant.

I always take friends that have never been to the place. A local favorite and A National Landmark. You must try the French Onion Soup. The best I have ever eaten. A great place to go for drinks and desserts after dinner!

Served in the candle lit tavern by wait staff in period dress and surrounded by the original 1800s stone foundation warmed by a crackling fire, this place was awesome. The onion soup, burger, beef sandwich and open faced cheese smothered Ruben sandwich were excellent. Each item cost about $9. Great service. You do have to navigate a few stairs to get down to the tavern. Family friendly.

The restaurant entrance is surrounded by stone walls. Before our reservation, we always plan to sit at the lower level bar which I feel is the most historical in the U.S. If we stay for a weekend, we dine there twice! May menu selections are prepared with special herbs, and lamb is always one of our choices.
