My children love a visit to the Dobbin House Tavern each time we go to Gettysburg. The wait is often long, so arrive at the early dinner hour (say 5:30 pm) so that you only have a 30 minute wait vs. wait times I've overheard when leaving the Tavern of 90 minutes or longer. The historical significance of the building and the great food has us coming back each year. If you do encounter a wait, stop by the underground railroad location and shop in the adjacent store. Notables: the French Onion Soup, delicious burgers, yummy crab cake sandwich, reasonable draft beer prices, pleasant waitstaff. Family of four with appetizers, entrees, local microbrews and a 20% tip was just under $100.
