“Yet another good meal in the tavern.”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Went to the Gettysburg outlets and just had to stop here again for a late lunch.
Never had a bad meal in the Tavern in the 5+ times we have eaten there..
Wife and I both got the chedder burger. I also got the homemade ham and bean soup.
Burgers where juicy and tender.
Friendly staff as usual.
Got there just before it started to get crowded for dinner.

“Good atmosphere, a lot of history, food not so”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

First of all, if you have a hard time climbing or going down stairs, the tavern is not advisable. Wait for the main dining area to open around 5pm. Second, since the tavern is on the basement the exits are poorly marked and I noticed only one entrance and exit. I smelled something burning, I quickly look for exits, and to tell you the truth I could not wait to get out of the tavern. My companions convinced me that nothing was burning. On to the food and service. The waitstaff wore some kinda servant uniforms and did not look happy with their outfits. To make this review short, the food was so-so, service very slow. I would not want to go back willingly on my own.

“Love love love!”

We always eat in the tavern here. It is so delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. Don't Miss the crabcakes. They are about the same price as other restaurants in the area but 10x the experience. If you eat at the tavern don't Miss the gift shop upstairs!

“Oldest restaurant in town - really cool tavern”
Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Fun place to go - candles everywhere, waitresses dressed in ancient garb, very old wooden bars/tables etc. Food is pretty good and fairly reasonable. Get there very early for dinner if you want the spit fire roasted chicken as they run out. Definitely worth a stop.

“Best Food In Town”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

My heart lies w/ Dobbin. Best place to eat... the tavern downstairs is amazing and I love doing a nice dinner upstairs as well. I highly recommend the duck if you like duck. I also stay at their Gettystown Inn every year and the breakfast experience is wonderful.
