While wandering around Gettysburg we stumbled upon the Rupp House and decided to enter upon seeing the sign saying free. What a wonderful little find! The museum was set up to look like it did when the Rupp family lived there during the battle and had wonderful hands on exhibits that people of all ages enjoy. It wasn't the biggest museum in the world but offered a nice view of what the battle was like for the townspeople.

While visiting they had a living history site. The museum was great, very educational. We will be looking forward to many more events!

Visit the Rupp House Historic Center for an a fantastic walk-through museum right in town. Just two blocks from the square, the Rupp House Historic Center is FREE and open to the public. Lovely place to stop in and visit!

You can pick up an actual pack and rifle that the soldiers wore and feel how heavy they were. You can read real letters and see the items that are normally behind glass and touch them. It is free to get in and explore all they have there.
